Richmond 2 Columbus 1

Yes, and the score completely flattered Columbus. Fortunately, the lads were all able to shower together at the swimming pool which is really what Masters football is all about.

Deucy with quite likely the goal of the season.....beat six Columbus players before expertly tucking the ball in off the post. It was a privilege just to be watching the maestro at work. The second goal was a no-look tip in by Ginger Tours.......it was sick. Very sick.

Good luck to the Columbus boys who were very classy throughout the match. Let's go win the Western Canadians but it certainly is now a question if the best team is truly representing the VMSL Masters.

Taxman richmond has taken pts from Westvan and Columbus!! Whatever those grinders have done off season has helped... Most likely picked up about 8 players from last year! Thats how many they would of needed to start of this season soooo well

What you do in the begining of a season matters "not" unless you back it up in the playoffs (ie: League Cup & BC's)...does this make any sense to you Capt.Sham.....which is why Columbus is going to the Westerns and Richmond isn't....right WAB?

Few thoughts
1 Columbus will represent BC well.
2 This league is a lot tougher this year than last.
3 Sapp's accomplishments last year still count for something.

I didn't miss anything - Columbus will win the Westerns because they will be the team that consumes the least amount of alcohol.... even if Hose has put on 30 lbs since his glory day(s).
Fantabulous - please clarify - is the Richmond team made up of men or boys - or did I miss something

WV took it to us for the first 15 or so I thought but we weathered the storm and then started to assert ourselves for the next 45.

3 UNDERSIDE crossbars and a header missing by 2 inches later, it seemed it wasn't going to be our day.

A short bench didn't help matters and WV made a few key changes I thought and then got a couple of quick goals to go up by 2.

WV kept up the pressure and we didn't threaten too much after that.

One day luck and maybe some skill will go our way but I really thought a share of points would have been a just result today.

But that's why we play the games.

BTW, Planks didn't even wave at each ball that went by him. Shoc-king.

Weird game. SU did hit the woodwork 3 times, albeit on more or less their only three chances. WV hit the woodwork three times themelves, but did outhance and ultimately wear down their hosts, who are always tough, especially at home. Planks with the shutout, and Whistleblower was the official. WV deserved the win based on run of play, chances, and ultimately, finishing. SU's backline got really tired in the second half, especially on the flanks.

Thanks to SU for the after game BBQ etc. Beautiful day out there today.

PS, as far as any Planks bashing goes, he has conceded one goal in 270 minutes (three games) thus far this season, winning all three he has played in.

Sapp 4 - 1 Cliff Ave

Sapp doing it with 10 healthy bodies right now. Anyone thinking about transfering over to Sapp please PM me.....we can't keep this up!

Cliff had a lot of tough bounces today. They applied early pressure but nothing went their way and bungled some great opportunities.
PPL_MVR with the 1st 2. Justin with the 3rd on a diving header. Bohica with the late one off a Cliff Ave mis-play.
Sapp had a fantastic 20+ consecutive pass-fest late in the 1st half than was fun to be apart of - maybe we could have tried once to go at goal.

Shockingly, BBY Lake is even noticably worse than last year!
