What's the secret? Plenty of questions in the last 2 days on this VMSL thread, why not answer them here?

Or post the info on your website?

If you're the spokesperson for the super league, you're doing a lousy job of it so far :D

Criticize all you want and I'm all for a laugh at anyones expense but I haven't been asked one question officially by anyone and I don't hear my phone ringing..... I won't answer questions on websites like this because I don't read them:cool:

Well, Sir M, as last year's finalists I think that undermines your assertion that they would not be competitive based on last year's Cup seeing as how they outlasted everyone but the big red n white machine known as WVFC (Former Trollers for all you Azzi fans out there)...and wasn't the final only 1-0? Holding West Van to 1-0 = competitive as it gets in BC...Just saying Gorge is a legitimate team that could compete for a title every single year in the VMSL.

Just sayin' what I saw in the final. I do think that Gorge could probably make VMSL Premier, but might struggle to make top 5 or 6.

I just spoke to a buddy on Gorge, he says they have no plans what so ever to join the new league. Something about taking a ferry 10 times in the season, has put a little damper on the idea.

Delta-4 Norvan-0,

delta scored 3 on set pieces nothing else exciting, didnt do much kick and run cut out by norvans defence well. norvan had no shots on goal howvere and dint look like scoring. game was played on marshy feild and gale-force wind, terrible conditions for the lads.

Listen Berg... They had a gem of a draw last year. Period.

They played a shitty fvsl team in PoCo, squeaked past the lowest ranked VMSL qualifier in RCIU, and played a crap island team in order to meet WVFC in the finals.

Put them on the other side of the draw and they exit early.

I think there is currently a six way tie for top spot in VMSL Premier.

I guess we need to find a way to make things more competetive.

There are two different questions to be answered:

1)Do you support the creation of a new Super League? Most teams say NO!

The more important question is:

2) Will you take a spot in the Super League if your team finishes top four? I dont know if the answer is as emphatic.

Most teams are saying they will make a decision once they get more facts....that is enough to keep this thing alive.

Azzi is banking on Metro Ford, Surrey/Firefighters and West Van to accept.....he believes that as long as three of the top four team say yes.....he'll be able to find another. Apparantly he called these teams along with a couple of others before the season and he was satisified with their response.

As said before by Sir M....it speaks volumes that the only people that support this are those outside the VMSL

We don't know that anymore than we know that Ireland advances past France if Henry's handballs are called...

Maybe Gorge played down to their opponents' level? ;) The Gorge track record speaks for itself and it's my firm belief that they compete for a title every year in the same way Clanbus, Inter et al compete every year (i.e. not necessarily top dawg, but one to watch out for nonetheless.)

Based on what you are saying, it sounds like the VMSL president is the driving force behind this and is very motivated or am I wrong? If that is the case, why would he be involved in tearing apart his own league to facilitate the involvement of leagues not as strong?

Doesn't make sense to me.

Ya this is the best season of Premier soccer (in terms of excitement) that I can remember in the last decade. On any given day any team can win.

P.S. Good to see you guys get out of last spot. Come on the Hibs!

Croatia also has a game in hand to be played against Sapperton. If they were to win that game, you could have 8 teams within 3 points of first place. That's incredible.

On another note, we have now heard some additional very interesting opinions in this forum about the super league...we have now heard in particular from key members of Columbus, WVAN, Croatia, and Inter, all of which voiced anything but agreement on the new league. We have even gotten some feedback from Gorge, again on the negative side.

I would love to hear an opinion from key members of Surrey United and Metro Ford. I have spoken to people on both clubs that don't agree with the super league, as it stands now.

I am 99% certain that Delta is totally against the super league.

I am 99% certain the Richmond is totally against the super league.

I would really like to hear from whataboutbob and Sapperton on this.

I would like to hear from Westside (or have we already?....too many posts to go thru!)

I would like to hear from Norvan...but my sense is that they have no interest in the new league, as it stands.

I am still waiting for a key member of a vmsl premier team to come out and say they are for this new league and cannot wait to get cracking next year if they qualify.

I sat behind SUFF and Metro Ford at the AGM.

SUFF were totally against it, as they felt that the change from the original plan of 6 VMSL teams to only 4 left both a weak BCPL and VMSL for next season.

MF was represented by an older gentleman with an English accent. Peter I think it was? He voted for it, and seemed enthusiastic at the time. Not sure if that's still the case.
