He signed like that to allow for a blue chip rental player at the deadline (Gaborik anyone!?)

I'm almost thinking you could be right. He takes less money to try and help out a team he owes nothing to thus far, just on the off chance they might have a shot at someone? Me thinks he knows something...

Thanks,

What is cool about his contract is that he actually signed for less..making the sour grapes eminating from the NY Times and NY Post look sourer...

Who wants to go to gate 6 and get a new Sundin jersey with me:D

This officially makes Brendan Shanahan the top player out there who is without a team.

Bring him in...unload Pyatt and Brown and/or Raymond and hope to get a bit more depth on the backline since this team has self destructed in recent years when their key defencemen go down.

The one line I wouldn't tinker with is Burrows/Kesler/Hansen. I am not sure why Hansen often gets overlooked considering he's better offensively and defensively than whoever else they have used on that line.

Unless Minny is out of the playoff picture, no chance Gaborik will be coming to Vancouver.

Good question Dial part of it is I think Bernier has been playing better with them then he has with the Sedins. Maybe because Burrows and him are French. I think Hansen would also do well on a line with Johnson and Hordichuk once Johnson is healthy. If you remember before Johnson went out him and Hansen were a good PK duo so they have played together and Hordichuk is slowly starting to pick his game up. Plus I think Raymond is very overrated and should be in the AHL developing. If not for his speed I don't know if he'd even be an AHLer.

I'm wondering if Horton still wants out of Florida since every year it seems that is what you hear. And if so would Pyatt, Raymond and a 1st rounder and/or Schneider be able to get him out of there. He is 23 and a damn good finisher around the net and right handed. If they can grab someone like him line up can look like:

Sedin-Sedin-Horton (double double line or is it 2 cream 1 sugar?)
Wellwood-Sundin-Demitra
Burrows-Kesler-Bernier
Hordichuk-Johnson-Hansen

Ohlund-Salo
Mitchell-Bieksa
Edler-O'Brien

Lu

I might be crazy but I'd rather they go after someone like Horton rather than Gaborik or Shanahan. Also Jussi Jokinen is on waivers is he worth a risk? At least he is deadly in shootouts.

Wow...that's her. She even does cartwheels, the splits, and the macarena if you ask her! But then I asked her to spit and she wouldn't do it.

Nathan...she's a keeper!

How fast Don Cherry turns on a long time Leaf. He was slamming him on CBC saying that it's his fault that Toronto got nothing for him and that TO were the losers in the deal and they got screwed.

Typical Toronto fan. Me, me, me, we got screwed, i wasn't invited, jerks, blah, blah, blah, centre of the earth, blah, blah, blah.

Really?

So you don't think Burke should have been invited since he was the reason Linden got to finish his career here?

Never said that but a bigger man would be less concerned that he didnt' get invited and more congratulatory that they retired his number and wished him well.

How them Flyers doin?

Bet you wish they could have scooped him up

Doing well, Franchise, after a very rough start. Yes, I do wish they picked up Sundin because they have a much better chance than the Canucks would of winning a Stanley Cup. :)

Sundin would have been an awful fit in Philly. They are already way too deep in the centre position anyway, with Richards and Carter stealing the show. Not too mention the injured, and right now waste of money, Briere. Guarantee Philly tries to offload Briere at the trade deadline or after this season for a good dman or better goalie now that Carter and Richards have come into form.
