And yes you are Dreaming...Wellwood on the top line is a classic. He's the Canucks version of Brian Savage. Score at a rapid pace the first two months and get 3 goals the rest of the season.

Except that when he was playing with Sundin in Toronto he was averaging over a point a game, 38 in 34 games IIRC. First line to me.

Do you watch hockey? Honestly I am a huge leafs fan and Wellwood with Sundin on the top line would be magic. He can score.. he has proven that so far and hasn't played with anyone to the talent level of Sundin.

Hey is Brian Savage related to Fred Savage:eek:

I was talking about the Rangers are a top 5 team. Why would they re mix the line up for Sundin when they are doing so fine with out him.
again, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I agree TA that the nucks are a 10 to 12th place team at the moment.

Yes, Wellwood and Sundin played on the same line in Toronto and Wellwood was on fire as you see the stats above. I don't see why Alain would not try that out for a while again.

Just heard on team 1040 that they are wanting just a one year deal for Sundin.
This gives the teams with not so much cap space to get him with slight adjustments, as he wouldn't be getting a full years salary. So if he signed for 7 million on the east. He would be getting 4 or so million for the rest of the season.

Final 4 according to his agent is Chicago, New York, Montreal and Vancouver. If i remember correctly.

If that's true about the 1 year deal, that works out even better for the Nuck's, as we can afford to overpay and we'd still have the cap room to blow on pending UFA's next year. I still can't see NY or Montreal being able to free up the room without blowing up their roster. I also can't see Chicago parting with their young talent to make it work either. Wishful thinking :D

If the Rangers find a home for Redden or Drury they may be able to do it.. Montreal could probably find a home for Lang, Plekanac or Higgins to free up space, but why would they, they're fast and for the most part a decent team to watch. Chicago's heading in the right direction with the rebuild and how do you move those goalie salaries. The Canucks flat out just aren't an exciting team and can't draw the big FA's historically. I'm going with the Ger's.

I've heard some good news/rumours that the Nucks have a real good shot. I think it comes down to this really....
Play for the Canucks since a lot of the travel is out of the way.
Play for the Rangers since they have a legit shot at the cup.

Problem with that is who wants those salaries with the way they're playing?

Seriously, I have troubles believing that he will end up in Manhattan.
1) They have no cap space, and as such will have to banish Rissmiller and Prucha to the minors and carry 21 on their roster plus move one of their big wage bills (Rosival, Redden, Gomez, Drury, Zherdev) to accomodate him. His agent has gone on record as saying he won't play for peanuts.
2) They are strong up the middle in Gomez, Drury, Dubinsky, and Betts (Who is probably the best 4th line centre in the league and could easily be the second line centre on half the hapless teams in the east...
3) Why blow up what looks like a team with good offensive chemistry, If I was Slats I would be looking to tweak my team only to add a Defenseman as poor Lundqvist and Valiquette get more rubber than they can handle most nights...and they are both good keepers.

I just see Sundin wanting to play there, but I think he will end up a Canuck, for more money.

Can you guess who the best shooter in the league is?

He has only taken 35 shots and has 12 goals.....

Sundin will sign on December 19th....JP Berry meets with the Canucks tommorow as Sundin had a family issue in Sweden to fly home to.

He wont pick a team till Dec. 31st....wants to see the positions of some teams down the stretch for the final 3 or so months....down to 4 teams: chicago, montreal, vancouver and new york rangers.....the last two being front runners. Wouldn't doubt if he ended up in Montreal though
