Todays game HNK VS Douglas Park was nothing to see. HNK was missing two key defenders also two strikers. Douglas played way better in first half. HNK played well in second half. It was a very close game. HNK should have head a PK. Ref was way to far to make a proper call. HNK forward head the ball ,he was on his way one on one with keeper before Douglas Park defender head his shirt. Ref did not see it. I think D.Park head a one or two subs. HNK head only one. Smart Coach was watching. In his opinion there was not any guys that could help Rino West Side next year.

Re: Nope!

GIVE ME STRENGTH! Any other excuses?

Excuses? He didn't say we weren't going to win. The Watcher predicts some stellar goaltending from McDirty accompanied by solid defence and timely goal scoring vaulting the short handed train to victory. Lets hope we don't have to see anymore upper management cup heroics (see last two NK cup finals) as cold wet weather doesn't agree with us oldtimers.

Watcher you are not from East Van. You used to be. Only three four guys on you team come from East Van. Rest are from Richmond, Surrey, North Van and other places. We do know the east side kids. Nice try good luck in your game.

Div two cup UBC vs Nk Hrvat. First half score was zero zero. Darn cold day.Game was fast pace low skill. UBC head one or two very good chances. Ref was unbalivable. Did a fantastic job in first half. No more than six folks out to watch the game.

Anybody have the story on Punjab Hurricanes “B”? Middle of the table in CAT and a big win to reach the semis against Desmesh. Are they playing above their heads or were they having a sub-par regular season??
What happened in the NK game?

They are an average team. I'd peg them at mid pack div 2.

We were missing 5 starters for our game and barely got 11 using youth call ups. We even had to get one of the guys we registered earlier in the year, to come here from Naniamo to play( he hasn't played soccer since November)

Of the starters we were missing, 4 were part of our top 6 or so players. To add to it, since our goalies out we had to use our only real forward in net. So we had no threat all night, minus some free kicks and scrambles. Had a few grade A chances but made messes of them. Towards the end of the game we just started to hand them chances.

Last SECOND of the game, ref decides to call a PK on a "hand ball" that he hadn't been calling all night long. Right after the kick he called the game.

Seemed like he wanted to get out of there as fast as he could. Couldn't blame him, it was freezing out there.

Good hard game today between NK and UBC. NK was missing five starters and had only two subs (normally we have six to eight) one which was not utilized, as well our keeper McDirty started at striker. Normally this would be quite worrying, however in a short period of time it became clear that the more talented players resided on the NK roster. UBC are young energetic and disciplined but they are a little on the small side and their attack lacks some creativity. Not that not scoring against the train can be held against them as most have suffered a similar fate this year. NK squandered many close in chances and numerous free kick opportunities while UBC scarcely threatened down deep. That being said to UBC's credit the game was ever on the scoreboard late when the NK sub (for McDirty) drew a last man red at the 20 and the Tokyo Typoon parked the ensuing free kick over the wall in the top corner. UBC never threatened after that but they did provide some much needed running for the NKers who look to appear in their third Div 2 cup final. The Red head at center back was UBC's top performer while NK's was their right back.

PS....... The brutal cold weather chased some old men away from the park

Watcher is this not your second time trying to move up to div two? As far as B cup it is in PG. Well let me tell you. Bugs are dam mad uptheir. You should focus on div one team.
Let UBC go up their.
As you know.Going up is fun. Going down is madness. Your side will need four solid players in orther for you top stay up their.
Caps kids will be in div one. Mr Azzi will have to send them down. It just does not look good for VMSL. If no players get called up to national side from VMSL. Only Caps program gets the credit. It makes no sence to have U21 program. Kids deserve better.

You are old only if you can not get it up. It is Missis that knows that best. Every dog has his day in the park.
