I am sitting here at work... obviously in a really bad mood.

I played today against WUS... I'm not going into the details of the game as it's all a blur right now... We did not play well at all.

Short re-cap....
We had numerous chances but couldn't bury them... The Keeper played stellar! WUS has acquired a hot sniper since our first game against them - the dude is great! I'm sure most of you have met him, he goes by the name Elvis! Also, no need to document their style of play... you are all aware... disgraceful...

Anyhow... onwards we march......

WFC Rangers A 1 - 4 WUS Sarajevo

I'm getting so sick of this losing sh!t. How does NK put up with it?

Before the match even started, WUSS had to be told to fix the lines (with handheld spray cans, no less), fix the nets, yada-yada. Meanwhile, the ref strolled around South Memorial, conveniently circumventing the standing water and actually decided to play the game. Shame, really. If the Parks Board had been anywhere nearby, they might have given him a stuffing for letting us go -- after thousands of dollars and months of recuperation being sunk into that field, we just trashed it in one afternoon. Knob.

Regardless, the game started out much the same as against the JB's. Within the first 5, WUSS came down slotted a nice little curler in the far corner. A sign of things to come, really.

But we did very well to get it right back and shut their sidelines up -- for a little while, anyways. No less than 5-10 minutes later, our London-import strolled around their big, fat defender and chipped in a easy ball to be nodded in. 1-1: new life and a brand new game.

But shortly after we fell apart.

In the span of 15 minutes, we (1) were caught running around in a chicken-coop (freebee volley from top of 18: 2-1), and then (2) allowed this "Elvis" fellow just enough room to smoke a shot off the far post and in. In all honesty, I haven't faced a shot like that since Clan Alumni blew my finger apart last year. Lovely goal, really.

Then came the jeering from their sidelines.

Half-time we're 3-1, but still with some life left. But even that got sucked away about half way through the 2nd, when (I believe) the same guy who smoked the third goal did the same around my wall, making me look like Boss Hogg wallowing around Hazard County. After that, we just went through the motions for the rest of the game.

WUSS are not the same team they were in the first half of the season, and, as a result, will make a strong push for the top. Indeed, I believe the standings reflect games in hand in which they could possibly have a 1 point advantage. They've added two strong new strikers (#6 & #17): young (but mature), strong on the ball, and both with excellent shots. Quite honestly, I don't know why they're playing with WUSS rather than some Div 1 team. They really are in a class of their own on that team.

I, on the other hand, can't begin to describe my disappointment. I suppose what makes it all a tough pill to swallow, is that it might have been one of my stronger performances this year -- their two strikers just created so many quality chances.

And, yes, snipers were in the bushes again: giving WUSS three particularly good cracks on net (one of which went in), including an unbelievable cork-screw that only managed to barely deflected over the bar. We decided at the outset of the game to ignore everything (including continued ball-grabbing from #14) and wait for them to self-destruct, but with our luck the ref was ethnic as well and fell for everything they performed for him.

There was one funny moment (to me, anyways) in the 2nd half. After one of their guys went down, their team stood around waiting for him to finish his act, but after some time, #17 calls out to his sidelines: "He's injured!" So outcomes the designated bag-runner man from the sidelines only to finally arrive at the other side of field, just as the guy gets back up and readies himself to play. Either #17 hasn't yet learned the routine yet, or these guys go down so often even their "trainer" doesn't know when they're really injured or not.

So today I'll be heading to the infirmary to have my elbow checked out. In all of the hub-bub, my bender has come to swell in the most painful of manners. Hopefully it's not too serious.

Here endth the novel.

I got to Strathcona at approx. 1:05 pm. The ref told me the game was cancelled due to the condition of the field. So I drive all the way home, and put on some different clothes to go meet my fiancee at a house warming party. . .just as I am about to exit my house, the Watcher calls and tells me the game is on. So I have to rush back to the field and I get about 2 minutes to warm up.

NK loses 3-2 on a field where the ball bounces at the most inappropriate times, or just plain stops in a puddle of water, while the player runs past it. And what's with the irrigation canals cutting across that field? Anyway, both teams had to play on the field so it's not an excuse, just a commentary on the conditions. Alemania scored some nice goals. I'm just pissed because of my aforementioned commutes back and forth to the field, only to lose.

Thanks be to B United. They are done. How they lost to the Cobras isn't hard to believe as they aren't that good and i feel they have been fairly lucky to play some of the better teams when they were missing players or what have you.

BigBird please check discipline report before having your player sit out a game. it can take the leagues a few weeks to actually assess the penalty. You wouldn't want your guys to sit uneccessarily.

Onto Strathcona:rolleyes:

pg rangers - 2
city fc rangers - 4

good game - clean, good ref etc. we had them 2-1 in the second half and were the better team but they were opportunistic and got 3 straight to take this one. well placed shots all day by city.

they are going up for sure but much like burnaby fury from last year, they are in trouble. there are much better div 2 teams out there - just in other divisions.

In shite

Yomama,

Your pissed off because your fiance probably gave you shite for having to go back to the field rather than escorting her to the party.

P.s. Are you over your complex yet?

Well played match between PGR and City FC. An enjoyable game to play and watch as there was some great goals and decent touch from both teams.

I can only assume by yomama's game assesment that they were playing on loverly stratchcona, beware the wrath of the strath.

BlazeArmy cheers for the heads up we will definetly have a look at that. Oh and you can check yomoma's report for further field info on crapcona -put the ball in the air son!-

How they can let anyone play on that field in unbelievable.

I believe it was Brian Clough who said

"If god had wanted football to be played in the air he would have grown grass in the sky"

or wprds to that effect.

As for playing it in the air, i doubt we will start of doing that. Playing at Beach Grove you get accoustomed to the odd bounce or 32. I talked to some people who played there on Saturday and they said it was pretty disgraceful. I'm hoping they cancel or move the game. Our field is fine:rolleyes: at least no water or canals but i doubt they would do that.

JB's 1 Signmasterbator 1

Probably should have been 0-0. Two garbage goals.....tit for tat.
The rain was coming in sideways. The turf has great drainage, but tonight it was coming down so hard that there were pools all over by the second half. Pretty sloppy play by both teams which was probably indicitive by the weather. Signmaster was pretty yappy and I'm not sure why. The reff was crapp but for both teams. If we had played like we did against the Rangers, this would have been our game. It seems the lack-of-finishing bug has reared it's ugly head once again. Fcuk me, I could have put myself in for a clean chance but the ball bounced right into my beer gut and totally died while I stumbled forward.....Fcuk me!

I'm sure we sort of helped you Keeper and Ranger.

Sort of?

You helped us great. Well done. With our bed-sh!tting on Sunday, what you did last night was much appreciated. I don't think you can beat yourself up too much for only getting a tie, as I don't think the conditions provided for much for either team. And they were probably so pissed for not getting the win that they expected/hoped for.

Good job.

Now . . . . . . would you mind doing Sarajevo in for us, too?

Please?

Nice work!!

Nice work NB squad!

Keeper is right that we took a huge shite in the bed this weekend, and we have our work cut out to come back.....but we will.

We had a make shift midfield this past weekend with a couple of injuries and one suspension (that being me!). The game had many chances, but WUS hit the target with most and had some amazing finishes.

Keeper had his best game for a long time, making some stella saves.

HUGE game this weekend. We have guys back and ready to come out fighting.

Tsquare,

I'm all confused now. On Sunday, a guy on Alemania with a Napoleon Complex was all up in my face, actually he was throwing his weight around all day (a buck and change). He called me a "steroid freak." I'm not sure whether to take it as a compliment or an insult.

And I knew exactly what kind of game we were in when I saw a guy sweeping the water away from a puddle with a broom before the game.

Well Yomama,If he was reffering to Zits on your back it was an insult, if he was reffering to your massive upper body it was probably still an insult ;) !By the way do you know where to get any?;) I need Roids to calm myself down!:D

JB's vs Signmaster

The weather for last nights game ranks in the top 5 for the most uncomfortable conditions to play soccer in. It was both windy and rainy yet you could not differentiate between the two as the air was so saturated with moisture it was like running underwater. The field held up quite well but by the second half large puddles began to collect in a few places.

As for the game, it was a bit of a seesaw affair with JB's controlling a bit more of the play but with Signmaster counterattacking and earning some good opportunities. The ref did not make things easier for them when he red-carded a Signmaster player just after half, for a blantant and emphatic "Fcuk You" for his call. The ref did not have his strongest game and no doubt he was trying to rationalize the 50 bucks he was earning for enduring the deluge that night.

Signmaster yapped quite a bit. With us, with the ref, with themselves. At times there were some cause for it but it was really getting old. I think that their backliner, Scott, had two of the best lines that night....
To the ref after the card..."You better be able to back that up"
To his fellow defender after a JB attack down the line..."Homer Simpson, Get back and pickup"
He also gets full marks for his middle of the park dive which pissed me off, not because of the call but because we had to wait 4 minutes in the damn downpour for him to "recover". I gave him a nice bath along the sidelines later on to show my appreciation.

We really should have won this game given the fact that we had the man advantage but we broke down and gave up a goal and were able to tie the game in the last few minutes. Both keepers made good saves on the day and get full marks for lasting out the night.

I doubt that there will be any soccer this weekend with the prevailing forecast so it looks like we will get back to back to the turf the following week vs the Strikers were we will try to right that early season tie.

By the looks of you, doesn't it always feel like you're running underwater? ;)

Thanks once more for the good efforts last night.

Novan BJ's

Nice work **** Suckers!!! Your name fits you to a tee. I sure am glad that you didn't take us lightly as one of you Bone heads pointed out early in the week because with 10 men for us you still could only manage a tie with a soft goal. Bonefish the red card was 25 minutes in, but hey who's counting. The funny part is I saw a bunch of your bitches drop from some huge hits on the back line, but you probably didn't notice that either. I can't figure out how Westside lost to you guys......not only are you mediocre you have the skills of Christopher Reeves up front. Hint....when against 10 men try putting the ball outside.......

One more quick note.......#21 the ball is on the ground try going for it once in a while......it will make you look like you have a bit of skill......

oh yah piss on 7th place boys....when you get close to the top try talking smack.....until then keep up the ****suckin....
