Div 2 [VMSL Division 2] Predictions, Results & Banter, Feb-Mar, 2007

Many congrats to the Bombastic fellas on their promotion. Know several of the guys and have enjoyed playing against them for years...the first bunch spent dominating them and the last few watching them get better and better until we have no success against them any more. Due to a well organized plan for the future (club structure). Happy for the older guys who are not playing with the A team anymore as it was you who made this happen - nice work.

As for the jump to div 1 - it's big. Speed difference is huge! Scoring is much harder and unless you have serious strikers there will be trouble. Guys who fill the net in div 2 will struggle unless they are the real deal. Goalkeeping is also much better as all teams have a keeper who can play...not so in div 2.

Very excited about the league next year with the teams being squeezed south. Should make every division much more competitive.

I will have you know that i did quite well at the river rock today on my way to the indo game. off to a poker game soon give it all back mind you but piss off.



OD, between you and your bro it was a shite show with the drunk beyond cougar at the one table. she was offerimg up money for the power to stay and give her luck. i think she just wanted the power to give her one.

Keeping and speed are hugely different between the 2 divisions. I am a pretty decent keeper in Div 2 but i have to be absolutely on my game in div 1 to keep things neat and tidy at the back. Luckily i don't really play in either anymore and keep to the B squad and u 21 plus summer games these days. I can't agree anymore with bandcamp about the difference in speed and time and the ball in the next level.

Cheers for the game agan Nomads last night. i may feel ok again in about a month though.

Thanks for getting a squad out to MAP on such short notice. You made some key saves, a few that were surely goals. I dont know what happened on that throw in...

The "throw - in " may have bbeen one of the first goals i have ever been involved with. It mau have been my " Away, Away, shite i should probably get that " shout as the ball was coming in the box. Then my comical attempt to reach it while at the sametime thinking " hey, noones touched this dont push it away" then seeing ur guy tap it in off the 1 inch line while trying to swim across the turf to reach it. I could't have drawn that up anyway to make it more comical. Too bad there was no videa, that could have one some blooper prizes.

Your guys last goal was a cracker though. Full volley off the corner from 14 yards or so. Great marking on our pat though. I was in shock when he hit it. Thank christ it wasn't at my head as i would not have had a chance to even duck or get a hand up. My head was sore enough from my previous evenings activities.

We had fun Blaze...your guys are all good guys too...it helps when guys are fired up to play, but also realize it is a friendly...A good run with no stupid stuff...except the "throw in heard round the world"
