First post as a Langley Player...
I think Friday hight ganes are great but I have to admit 3:00 on Saturday are the best as it gives plenty of drinking time. Thus I have nothing new to add:D

Night games

We just heard that our mathch has been postponed against Poco until further notice. I don't mind some Friday night games but 9 o'clock games got to go. 7 or 8 would be alright. Our home games (Sat at 6 o'clock) seem to be good for alot of people so far.

Seems like someone has no problem drinking before matches on Friday anyway...

Turf

Like it or hate it, but this turf is now FIFA approved. I don't believe it will be an issue in the situations where the big professional teams can resod their field two or three times a year, but in the smaller countries I bet we start seeing it. The UEFA match in Romania yesterday, involving my beloved Liverpudlians, was preceded by helicoptors hovering over the field attempting to blow the water off the pitch. Turf might have helped.

Moderators hat...

Just a reminder Sixfyv, there are lots of other threads on TTP where that type of thing is already being discussed. Just because you're playing the FVSL doesn't mean you're confined to it's threads. You're more than welcome to wonder on over and post in them. ;)

You can thank me later.

Personally, I LOVE Saturday games. I like the idea of having a day off before going back to work again. I don't think I would be crazy about a Friday night(not because of the treacherous(sp?) weather conditions)game because it would be quite late before you could start drinking. Captain

Capitan..well said, I hate the fact I won't have my first pint untill 11pm once the game is over. I don't know what I would do without my flask, full of scotch during the game....arrrrr..

Knight Rhider's box is a wee bit chilly

Delta 2 - Pau 2

Despite the somewhat cool conditions out there tonight, what a cracking fcuking match.

I show up with about 30 mins gone and the pace is a hundred miles an hour.
I know, before you start, not surprising coming from me right?
Cnuts....
Anyway, stitching here, stitching there and Delta go up on a deserved goal which I think tore off Cainy's arse and deflected past their keeper Glen leaving him no chance.
1 - nil Delta at half.

2nd half PAU tie it when an OG goes off the noggin of a Delta defender from a hard ball in from Guinness.
PAU's beginning to penetrate more when Studsup, taking a one on one go at their full back, slots it past Sixfyv.
Very nice goal with an even better pornstar slide celebration late in the game.
Then, to round out the night's festivities, off a late Delta corner, Michael Burns absolutely fcuking RIPS one home from about 35 yards to tie the match at about 88 mins.

Wow.

I know from both sides' standpoint they're probably both disappointed.
But, considering both sides have been moaning a bit about Friday night football lately, I have to say well done to both clubs from a spectator's standpoint.

It's the booze talking I'm sure,

LUFC 3 - CHILLI 1

As the subject indicates 3-1 victory for the lads from Langley. I thought Langley played below their ability much of the match, and gave a good portion of the possesion and chances to the wack, However they took another step towards proving they are a top Premier team by winning this match. Good teams will find ways to win games, in any fashion. Chilliwack had a couple near misses on low shots, and the game was close until about 65 minutes in.

Langley goals by McNeil, Mo, and Dino with his 7th?

Turning point was the PK issued after Dino got in close with a defender and the keeper, and was fouled. Mahovolic buried his 2nd in as many matches from the spot. That goal was the 2-1 marker that gave LUFC some breathing room.

Lions 4 Grove 3

a lot of goals tonight at Mackie........lions went up 3-0 and I thought great a shite game......the Grove came back and tied it at 3 and were unlucky not to go ahead....KR saved his team a few times towards the end.....anyways with about 2 mins left the lions whip in a corner and from where I was standing I couldn't tell if the ball went in and I don't know how the ref saw it either considering he had 10 guys in the way.......but he called it a goal and the lions won......I thought a tie would have been fair but it wasn't meant to be

P.S......it wasn't that cold tonight.....last week it was colder
