Seaquam 2 South Delta 0

5 players were missing today thanks to suspension( 3 didn't turn up for training and didn't let me know ahead of time), one camping with grade 7s, and one came down sick today. We gave them a goal two minutes in when our player decided to play a square ball across the 18 yard box to their striker, who said thanks and scored. The second goal was a good run by their center midfielder and a great finish. We played fairly well for most of the game and had a couple of good chances but didn't bury them today. Off to Kamloops tomorrow....

Captain,

What's the Kamloops tourney like? Our team is heading up, and I know St. Jean Brebeuf is entered. I'm not coaching this year, but am curious none the less.

Skip,

I have no idea. This is the first time we have entered as we have been going to CAmpbell River the last five years. Because of circumstances that were out of our control, we chose to go to Kamloops this year. There a few good teams from the valley there(at least teams who have been tough the last couple of years. We're bringing up 18 players and I plan on just making line changes throughout the tourney, especially Friday because we have FOUR fcuking games(25 minute halves). He changed this after we had already sent our deposit in, so the tourney went from 16 teams to 20 to obviously make a bit more money. So, we'll have a great time up there and probably not win many games........:) It's all about angles.......So you're not going?

Four games on a Friday!? Diabolical!

With that amount of game time, and knowing how flaky (sp?) girls can be sometimes, you better increase the roster from 18 to 25.

No, I'm not going. I've coached both the boys and girls Sr. teams at my school for a number of years now, but decided to step away from coaching this spring for a couple reasons:

1. I'm doing a Masters program which takes a lot of my time

2. The girls are fukcing shoc-king this year! :D

(if you ask me infront of the girls, I'll never admit to point #2)

Sorry, Studsup, I don't know the score.

We have played two games today, winning the first one 1 - 0 and drawing the second game 1 - 1. The second was possibly one of the top 5 worst teams we have played in the last seven years. I missed how they even got the ball in our and scored but we just lack creativity around the goal. Simple really. We play in one hour and it will fortunately be our last game as three teams pulled out of the tournament at the last minute. So it is only 3 games, which is useful. I am playing everyone equal time, including several juniors. We went to Rivers last night(coaching staff) and it was tremendous. We'll be having a team dinner at Fogg and Sudds at 8:30. A trip to the casino will follow and then a trip back to Rivers and perhaps somewhere else. Who knows. I fcuking love the Pita Pit. Off to find an outfit for the next game. Kamloops quite possibly has the world's worst dressers. Coming from me, they must be REALLY bad.......

We were supposed to play 4 on Friday originally. :( Fortunately, a couple of teams dropped out.....

Anyway we stuff a shoc-king team yesterday in the third game, which put us into the semi-finals this morning. We played Kelowna this morning, a team who is supposed to be challenging for the provincial title this year. We honestly TTP out of them in terms of football but we lacked in the final 1/3 of the field. We ended up beating them on penalties and set up a final game against South Kamloops, who are also supposed to be a contender this year. We tied 1 - 1 and went to penalties, this time losing 4-3. We played great football today and I really got a kick out of some of the coaches and how serious they take things. It's only a tournament lads. Relax.......So a good weekend for everyone(I profited another $700 at the casino) and we get right back at it on Monday with a tough game against Semi.

Hail! Hail!

South Delta 2 Semiamhoo 2

An entertaining game with lots of good tackles. Unfortunately, we had one major blunder in net to give them the first goal. Anyway, we played well and were unlucky not to net a few more. Semi is a dangerous team. The midfield and defenders tackle very well and get to the ball quickly, then look to lump it up to two decent forwards. Having said that, the ref probably could have called things a bit tighter. On to North Delta on Wednesday and then I'll give the girls a few days rest.

Studsup,

I assume the first tie-breaker IF two teams are tied at the top is head-to-head competition? Most leagues have this so I am assuming this is the case in our league. Could you let me know please? Cheers.

Capt: two way tie in points

a) how the two teams did head to head GF-GA
b) how the 2 teams did head to head, away goals count double GF-GA
c) play off neutral site sharing costs and responsibilities

Hope that answers your question. Are you playing Sunday morn leaugue again this year??

So our two away goals were HUGE yesterday? ;) :D If we manage to beat N. Delta and you guys, then we would win the league, automatically getting the birth into the final 8 of the Fraser Valley? We have never done this so I'm certainly not expecting it.

As for Sunday mornings, I have not been invited to play by anyone because I am a has never been. So, I probably won't be playing very often, if at all.

Ended up tying semiahmoo today ;) (nice eh capt) Final score was 2-2. Ref blew the game with 8 minutes left on my clock still and the semi coach just about shite his pants, stormed onto the field , rah rah rah. Semi scored first from the sideline from a shanked cross, then we tied it up after carrying most of the play in the first half. Semi then scored their second after a high clearance was miss judged by sweeps, and their forward ran onto it for an easy tap in. Our second goal was a cracker from 30 yards out in the top left corner. Hope that spoils their chances of finishing first. Onto seaquam on monday to try and get our first win of the season. Look for updated standings tommorrow after i get sd/nd result.

Are we going to play next Friday, Studsup OR could we move the game to Wednesday? That would be better for us if it works for you. Let me know.

No problem, Studsup, as that gives me a few extra days to look over game film. :D Seriously though, did you still want to try and move the game forward to an earlier time? If so, that might be difficult because the field we use is an elementary school beside the high school and they have first choice. However, if you want to move it forward, I could ask the principal if he wouldn't mind telling the teachers that the field would not be available between a certain time? Let me know as soon as you can. Cheers.

Studsup,

Are you there? My players need to know about Friday as soon as possible. Are we playing at the regular time? I assume at this time we are but could you confirm when you get a minute? Cheers.

Had a good game yesterday, played ND with 10 men and no subs for the full 80 minutes. ND had about five subs and scored against the run of play in about the 60th minute. We finally tied it up with a free kick that their keeper really should have had. One of my girls had bronchitis and another had to get carried off with a bad ankle. I had felt like we just won the BC's. Anyways Capt EMS currently has 3 points and ND has one point, but they are going to forfeit (sp) their match against seaquam as they can only round up seven players and a goalie. Therefore if it is okay with you, we will do the same as it won't make a difference in the standings for us, we will give you the three pts also. thoughts?????
