Earl Marriott 0 Semi 3

Held Semi to 0-0 draw at half time, and then i switched to a 3-5-2 from the 4-4-2. After that semi scored 3 times within about 8 minutes. Lost our key forward who has been strugglin with strained liggys in her ankle which didn't help much. I'm puttin this loss down to being out-coached by semi. Onto Seaquam this friday. Burnsy, any chance you guys can come here on april 7th for a 4:15 or 4:30 kick-off. Strugglin with a field conflict that day.

Studsup,

That time might be a problem. There is a grad fashion show that night, which starts at 7:00 but I don't know how many girls are a part of it. We have a meeting at lunch tomorrow so I will ask the girls if that time works. If not, perhaps we could find a neutral field somewhere? I'll post tomorrow and let you know if the time works.........

What a gong show on friday. ND 1- Semi 3. Who would of thought. 5 minutes into the game and semi was up by 2. ND played with 9 players the entire game. I know the coaching staff only wanted 16 players, but many of the girls had other commitments. 2= with jobs, 2=sick, 1=field trip and 1=school work problem. So with the many excuses for absences, the team fell apart. I don't know about you guys but when I played we didn't have friday games. This was much easier for girls who have to work to actually work during the season. For us we played mon, wed and trained tues, thurs and then I had youth soccer on sundays too. So it was necessary for the girls to work on fridays. Well that's my perspective, I guess 3 games a week does provide more games. But also more injuries! Anyways ND needs to be more focused after the last two losses. I think the game against SD was not a great game for ND. SD deserved the win. Unfortunately I think for ND to beat SD, SD has to have a bad game. That's it for now, onto next week.

Lionheart,

I know what you mean about the numbers. That is why I take a minimum of 18 every year. So far, we have had 3 players miss a game/two because of injury, so we will need all the players. If we get stuck for numbers, we can always use some of the junior players up to a maximum of 3 times. We are going to a tournament on April 16/17 and will be bring 20 players(3 juniors other than the 3 who are already on the team). 4 games in one day is crazy but that is what it will be.

BTW, did you notice number 18 for Semi? Was she playing? With 9 players on the field for you guys, I thought she would have had a field day. It is a competitive league this year for sure, which will hopefully help our teams when it comes to playoffs, assuming we make the playoffs.

Lion, only a few friday games in the schedule this season to accomodate a home and away series for all the teams. Last year our season was only seven games so i thought it would be better to double up on the games. Played against seaquam on Fri, Lost 3-0. Had 2 players sit out because it was cup weekend and their coaches didn't want them to play. Pretty lame, I remember training with surrey u twice a week, 3 times a week with my college team and two games a week with both teams. Really lacking a goalscorer right now, solid back line but can't put the ball in the net. On to ND today, sounds like we'll be in tough if they did that well with 9. Lovin my student teacher right now, off to line the field and put up the nets.

STUDS hurtin from the 7 -aside full field tourney, 9 guys 4 games on the sat.Think the rest of the squad were eatin chicken pies. Cnuts

Studsup,

Is our game at the normal time? Where is it? Is it possible to play at the South Surrey Athletic Park? If you could let me know before the end of the day (3:00), that would be great so I can let everyone know at practice. Good luck in your game today.

Earl Marriott Secondary 1, ND 1 One of those games that's a heartbreaker today. Got scored on in the 88th minute. Had about 70 percent possession in the first and then lost our legs in the 2nd with only 2 subs. Keeps shite the bed, didn't come off her line to collect a fairly routine save, and a girl beat her for the easy slot. Training tommorrow and then onto SD. Capt, game has been changed to South Surrey athletic, field #8 Kick-off 3:30. Called the ref allocator and everything is sorted.

Captain,

I sure hope you don't get the same ref as we had today when you play EM. He was coaching the team while reffing... it was unbelievable. He would set up the wall for them, tell them where to stand and to move to the left or the right. Then 2 young boys as lines men who I think have never played soccer in their lives not knowing that the ball has to be ALL the way over the line! But anyways it was a good game we play Seaquam Wednesday should be a good game.

Lionheart,

I hear ya. We have played 4 games and the reffing has been absolute MINCE in 3 of them. I'm sure you'll agree that our ref was diabolical? Anyway, that's shoc-king if he was doing that.

Studsup,

Sounds good. We'll see you there around 3:15(can't get out any earlier than that). Cheers.

Lionheart, I hear your complaints about the ref coaching, but I think he is one of the better refs in the leaugue, I've had a lot worse in past seasons.

\I can't believe Seaquam ran the score up to 11 - 0 against Delta. That is diabolical. I hope Delta doesn't drop out of the league at this point. That would have many implications........

Who was the ref of your last game, Studsup/Lionheart?

Maybe a few more chicken pies might smarten you up! Trying to beat two guys while you're at a stand-still at the top of the box instead of passing it off.....not wise! End result?, odd-man rush the other way...goal...lost game...out of the final.

cnut!

on topic:

LA Matheson 0 and 2 record. GF = 2 GA = 12

Playing today vs Frank Hurt which will be their best chance at a result this year. :(

For those of you that haven't heard, Delta Secondary have pulled out from the leauge, all points will be erased from the standings and teams will have a bye on their scheduled playday against delta. That leaves EMS with no wins now and 2 losses. :(

That's ridiculous. A school of just under 1500 students can't field 11 girls who are remotely competitive. Shoc-king.

This is going to fcuk up our seedings and the amount of births the valley gets. These teams should really think of others before doing shite like this. Fcuking shoc-king but I can't say I'm surprised after the 10 players showed up to play us. They should be fined or something. Or at least send a couple of hundred dollars our way so we can spend it at the casino in Kamloops. Off to Earl Marriott.

Earl Marriott 1 South Delta 4

We played quite well the first half but had a poor second half. The score could have been around 8 - 5 with the amount of chances both teams had. Our defense fell apart in the second half, as our normal sweeper didn't play and our starting center midfielder couldn't play in the second half. Earl Marriott works very hard and did a good job of pressuring all over the field. We had a few nice spells but if our backs struggle like they did today, working the ball up the field, we are not going to get any better. It was a disappointing second half and the ref was a right bollocks.......AGAIN. Well done, Studsup, on a doing a good job with the girls. See you in a few weeks again.
