Normalcy has been restored to the universe...

One could be forgiven for mistaking these cup results with that other cup they play in April/May.

4 vmsl teams in the semi finals...yep, normalcy indeed.

But in reality this Pacific Cup has still been a little bit of a shambles so far, at least for us. When one island team drops out of the competition and then another one sends only 11 players over for a quarter final game, you know some teams are not taking this thing seriously. Thank goodness we had a travel fund set aside for the Pacific Cup and not for nationals.

The one good thing about this cup is the unlimited subs at the half. This is something that the VMSL should consider on a permanent basis. It certainly does not slow down the game at all. In fact, it speeds it up.

Hopefully the remainder of the Pac Cup will have more of a "cup feel" to it. With 4 vmsl teams in the mix, more Carlsberg beer on the line, and also some money on the line, you would certainly think so.
