4-0 eh!?
I want some of what you were smoking,
The "penalty" was far from a Just call. PornoRon had his hand on the ball enough to touch it away before the Inter Player erm... Swandived over him...

The ref apologised following the match to Wattereus.
The ref also refused to award any free kicks in the inter last 25 in the second half, but anytime one of the south americans fell over like they had been shot the whistle was blown.
Unlucky goal on Wattereus, deflection and such.
Inter looked disinterested and if they had played Adriano, and played with any determination it would have been 4-0.
The Rangers players did well in defense, (Posession was 50-50) and in the midfiled but made a balls of their attacks any time they got anything going. Only good attempt towards goal was Peter Lovenkrands shot over goal from a Buffel cross.
Kyrgiakos was the Best Player on the park. Cruz is a whinging little Pu55y, he may as well have the name "Lawnmower"

Good result for Inter, good hustle by Rangers...

What's up with Porto? Or maybe it was no fluke the "minnows" had Celtic? We shall wait and see...

What if Adriano and Veron were playing?! Yikes...

enough about Rangers...What's happened to PSV?!
I think Inter earned the win.

No comments on the Chelsea-Liverpool nil/nil draw yet...so here it goes. A well played game that gave flashes of brilliant ball movement from time to time. Reds with the majority of control.a few of the Chelsea stars seemed rather quiet. not a sniff from lampard and essien. Gerrard with a strong showing at times, as well as Xabi. Garcia; however, seemed to be easily stripped of the ball and looked rather soft. Not sure if England is the best place for a fancy pants like him. Crouch did well to draw foul after foul as the target man up front and the youngster, coco bongo, showed some impressive flair as a late sub.

All in all, it was a great game to watch.....

Long lunch at work,

If you are a Liverpool or Chelsea ( ) fan it was an interesting encounter. If not, the Real/Olympiakos game was far more entertaining I reckon.

After watching that I have to say, with all their millions spent that is all Chelsea have to offer?!?! You have got to be kidding. They have not scored a single goal and should have had three penalties called against them in their last three games against Liverpool, a team in a rebuilding phase. They have been outplayed all three matches. What a joke. And regardless of what that clown Mourinho says, the Reds were the only team playing to win that game yesterday. If I'm Roman Abramovich and I've spent 240 million fcuking pounds, or whatever the number is, and my team is playing the neutral zone trap (ya, nice 4-3-3- Mourinho) I'm gonna be a little pissed. And not the "I just drank two bottles of vodka with my comrades" pissed. Who cares if you won the league, there's more entertainment at the indoor chess matches at Park Royal Mall on a weekday.

Other than Makalele, Liverpool's midfield bossed the show. Where was Lampard? How can one man be so fat and still be unnoticeable on a football pitch? Well, Frank, what's your secret? And how come Robben, Duff and SWP didn't play yesterday? Oh, that's right, they were playing. Must have been wearing Chelsea's new third, invisible strip I guess.

Once again the Scousers vocal support was excellent. Nothing like watching a big game being played at Anfield and hearing the fans singing Fcuk Off Mourinho, oops, I mean You'll Never Walk Alone. Or Where Were You In Instanbul?.

I was anxiously waiting to see how Chelsea played their 4-3-3 yesterday. My U-14 Metro team is playing this formation so I wanted to see if there was anything I could pick out watching the "pros". One thing I picked out is that your deep central striker needs to be in his own box defending. Drogba was the principle defender on many occassions. Chelsea was content in just surviving for the draw and survive they did. Liverpool was robbed yesterday. Two penos for certain! There were so many fouls committed yesterday that the referee lost his bearings.

Liverpool's team is very well suited for European competition. They are disciplined. Gerrard is coming into form. He is an impact player who was a little off yesterday. Alonso is one of my favourites. Liverpool should have had the win yesterday.

Chelsea will soon have a rude awakening similar to Real had...

The money spent has been spent largely on players known for going forward, not players who are known to defend. Therefore Jose has to play this brand of football to keep the against down.

I think Jose should just try and outscore the other side, Lord knows he has enough talent at his disposal!

And how much is a ducket to Stamford Bridge worth now BTW?
60 damn Pounds! Per game!

These are some comments I must say. I don't know what game the manager was watching but I suppose watching just about any game is better than working and as such his judgement may have been clouded by a very liquid long lunch. That game was like watching old people fcuk (copyright Kevin Rooney). Liverpool deserved two penos both of them stonewallers. The phone ins after were priceless with Chealski fans listing off viable replacements for the players actually involved, "He should have played Gudjohnnson, he should have played Cole" and so on. For the Chealsea support it isn't about tacticts or formations, it's about using the right tool for the job. In a way they are correct but not for the right reasons.

And if Soti was the best player on the field last night then I'm a chinese jet pilot. Materazzi (sp) was huge last night. He didn't lose a single header to Prso and he didn't have to employ all the pushing, holding and pulling we saw from Kyrgiakos and Rodriguez.

Group H is wide open all the same.

obviously not a reds or Chelsea fan, are you Jinky. ;)

There should have been more finishing from teams of this calibre, especially Chelsea, considering the hype leading into this game. Reds dominated and played well against a side that supposedly was ready to tear them a new arse. Not a win, but good to see LP neutralize Chelsea like that.

I've got nothing against Liverpool except that they think they can outsing the Celtic support and on this they are self-deluded.

There just wasn't much football coming from such expensive squads. It was reminicent of a Celtic v Rangers game without the drama. Which is essentially just bad football for the most part. All they needed was Helen Stoumbos doing the commentary to make a bad 90 complete.

Awful results today for me :(

Betting Sports action.
Had Bremen to win at Udinese, and they gave up an 86th minute goal to Udinese for the wops to tie...
I also had Barca at Panathinaikos and they drew nil-nil

PISS!

To show there is no animosity between myself and our resident Huns, here is some footage of tonight's 0 - 0 draw against the pub team, which happened to knock us out of the competition. The same pub team which were gubbed 4 - 0 at Celtic Park.

Dildo Parnsips earned another academy nomination too apparently. I'll try and post that footage once it comes out. :D

ya, chelsea really got that rude awakening. 4-1 over liverpool, 5-1 over bolton, 4-0 over Real Betis in the last 3 games. ya, boring soccer.

Huge diff with Real. They don't play defense whereas Chelsea is shutout kings.

Best seats at the bridge goes for 85 quid.

it will be another 5 past everton this weekend. 10 straight wins in the EPL sums up a one horse race.

You can try to justify it any way you like but scoring goals on the counter-attack does not equal exciting football. Ask your girlfriend if holding the fort until everyone is asleep then promptly blowing your load in a flurry of buckshot and running around acting chuffed is "exciting". I think she might have a different take on the scenario. Personally, and this fcuking hurts to say, I'd much rather watch Arsenal or (here it comes) the scum play their early 2000's brand of attacking footy then the meticulously prepared sterility of the New York Yankees, excuse me, Chelsea FC. Wow, they rock.

Yes, Dapo, you sound like a very frustrated supporter. Chelsea is an excellent team, as much as I would hate to say it. I don't think they rely on the counter attack as much as you say but they sure can defend, eh? :D

Just because Liverpool is a BORING team to watch(of course they're not as entertaining as Celtic/Falkirk  ) don't take it out on Chelsea, which happens to be the best team in the EPL by far and might be the best team in Europe......

BTW, Bayern Munich is fighting for that honour right now too.....

another misinformed viewer. what game are you watching??? oh ya, Sunderland vs Everton. Great game, great skill there.

chelsea can score goals either by counter attacking, the long ball, set pieces and breaking teams down. Very few teams can say that. Most teams actually pack the final 35 yards when playing Chelsea so it's kinda hard to just counter attack. I guess you never notice that Lampard gets a lot of goals from set pieces. He does it for Chelsea and England the same way.

In the 90's, Arsenal and Man U spent way more money than everyone else. Chelsea just up the ante. Arsenal will do the same one the revenue from the new stadium comes next year.

Best teams can adapt during open play. A team like Arsenal couldn't hold the fort down and always got knocked out of Europe.

I am a Liverpool supporter, but find it difficult to watch them right now. Not very exciting, but they are my team so I live with it. Can't stand Chelsea, but make time to watch them. Same with United 3-4 years ago.
They are the class, and yes due to the money spent, but also due to how they have spent there money. Not too many duds, with the right amount of English heart. They defend, but also have 13 goals in their last 3 games. But let's not kid ourselves, the Russion has thrown countless millions at this team because he can, not because Chelsea is able to generate the revenue yet. This may come, but you don't create a worldwide fan base overnight like Madrid and United presently enjoy.

oh yeah. buying great talent sure helps. three important keys to chelsea, team chemistry has been a great surprise to the experts. you can spend millions but the team has to gel. second, team defense is second to none. this seperates chelsea from teams like real madrid and arsenal. pretty hard to lose when you've shutout a team. third, Morinho has taken all the heat and the players are much relaxes. Helps when Jose is cocky, yet has some credentials.

you can never sway long time supporters of the team. Kenyon, the brains behind the team (who used to be the brains behind man U) is considered the top soccer guy on the business side. Tapping the Asia and South American market is where there targeting there sales. Samsung is the perfect fit for them.

As long as Roman stays out of the russion jails, he'll enjoy his 35 billion pounds. Chelsea is still chump change for him.

I hate Chelski. Hate them cause they are good, hate them cause they are rich, hate them because they had no fans three years ago and suddenly they have life loyal suppoters  . Has anyone heard more on the salary cap talks in the EPL??? Would make a Celtic comment as previous viewers have but this is a champions league thread :D
PS- 1-0 is a good road win, Cisse is only getting better, can't wait for Stevie to return to full health.

Perhaps that has to do with Celtic taking our song to open there games. Or did that song come out of Glasgow and not Liverpool as I have heard. Let me check my jersey.... oh there it is, yep, it is liverpools. Damn it! I said I wasn't going to mention Celtic on this thread but I still did. For the record I am glad they share the same toon, perhaps their "blue" rivals should do the same. ;)

PS-Real also looked impressive I felt. Seems they may have a person for thier stopper. Garcia I think his name was but he was effective from what I saw.
