Did Sammy do the lizard dance after he scored and make it worth the price of admission?

No.

He did it before. that's how he got the room to score.

no pizza just beer for the spur players at thier practice last night...some of those players should be on diets especially that number 13 with his burning speed down the left bench??? oh! I meant left wing...good luck on the weekend with AJAX :wa:

Auntie Jinks:

Has the lizard dance ever been captured on video? I can see how it would give him room on the ball before a shot....truly frightening to behold!

SCP:

actually I think most of those players should be on diets... Not so much a question of speed any more as in not having enough X's to put in front of the L's on their jerseys.

I don't think that #13 has blinded anyone with his speed for quite a few years, unless you're talking about when the cooler comes out. The guy does have happy feet with the ball, though. However, I think you've mistaken the source of the burning - that might be coming from your 'rhoids.... :D

good luck with Sapp this weekend.

Metro Ford 3 Cracovia 1 - played last night. Look out, world, CraigO's boys have found the road map to the net again....

Portuguese Club vs Sapp cancelled due to New West closing all of their fields - WTF is that all about?

Everybody else still on for tomorrow....

Re: [West Coast League] Results & Banter - January/February 2005

Westside 2-2 Portuguese Club

We were up twice and ended up tying it. It was a good hard fought game with both sides showing good pace and tenacity. I thought we had the better chances (as I usually do) but maybe SCP who was playing goal for them might beg to differ. Mario Baff with 2 beautiful goals for us and a bunch of other guys with near misses.

But all in all we are still in control of the league if we can just win the rest of our games. Sapperton take the Firemen who have lost 2 of their last 3 games...you gotta like it. What happened Scotty?

Re: [West Coast League] Results & Banter - January/February 2005

Peter: your team was the better team yesterday and we did escape with a point yesterday...it always happens in sports when you can't put a team away they always come back to tie or win...

Sapperton score in the 91st minute to win there game against the firefighters yesterday which leaves them and Lobbans tied with 10 points and which almost relegates Metro-Ford who have 4 points with 2 games remaining...

Re: [West Coast League] Results & Banter - January/February 2005

Metro Ford heading to 1st division (again)! That has to go down as one of the strangest seasons I've ever heard a team go through. I guess there's a chance that the winners of 1st div won't want to come up but even then, with 2 teams moving up and down, and MF coming in dead last (with no league victories yet), both teams would have to stay down and that's pretty unlikely.

SCP, did the Firemen go through on +/-?

Re: [West Coast League] Results & Banter - January/February 2005

I am the dark side.... :D

Exhibition game from last Sunday:

Canterbury 0 Spurs 0

Preview (can't say it was good) of one of the Masters' Cup Quarterfinals on the beach at Montgomery. Neither side really could finish their breakfast; Spurs possibly coming closest with one off the crossbar, although Troy from Canterbury putting a breakaway ball out for a throwin had to be a highlight  as well...

beerz,

stew

Re: [West Coast League] Results & Banter - January/February 2005

Games this weekend:

Sapp vs Portuguese Club
Firefighters vs Miloni
Columbus vs ICSF Inter (MOTW)
PAOK vs Cracovia
SFU Royals vs Lusos
PoCo Celtic vs SFU Utd
Lomas vs Covercrete
Blues vs Canterbury
Van Utd vs Shooters
Spurs vs Ajax
Reds vs Immortals
Alemania vs Steaua
Olys vs CAI

not quite a full sched as some series have already been completed (friggin' field closures!). Picked the Italian Derby as MOTW over Firemen/Miloni because there should be a little extra passion with only 1 point between them, although others may argue (well Peter, anyway) that 1st place on the line is significant too...

beerz,

stew

Re: [West Coast League] Results & Banter - January/February 2005

Stew, I don't argue with your logic. Italians usually lack a lot of emotion and if that game brought it out...what's first place anyways in the grand scheme of things?

That makes it pretty close at the top of the tables (I only included the top 5 teams 'cause I hate typing, sorry for the lack of formatting):

Firemen 3 games left 22 pts.
PCOV 1 game 21
Westside 3 games 20
Inter 2 games 20
Columbus 2 games 18

It's the tightest race I can remember with a bunch of teams still in contention. We have to play Columbus, Firemen and Inter in our last three games...I'm just glad we're finished with Sapperton!

Re: [West Coast League] Results & Banter - January/February 2005

Peter: I agree with you in regards to it being the tightest race for 1st place in the premier. Also, in the 1st and 2nd div. it is a barn burner to see which two teams finish on top of the table which promotes them to a higher division. By far we have the best Over 35 league in BC and across the country and for Stew he's still drinking the 6-pack of Stella's that I gave to him...
