He missed the NEXT game after Columbus....Know your facts before you get on and whine. Cheaters? We didn't know he was on Azzi's famous list. If you have ever received an email from Azzi you'd know this...In any case, we take the minus 3 and move on. That's what we are all about. BTW: you were lucky to get a draw. Enjoy the point...

Azzi said many, many times in the pre-season meeting to "check the list" before signing/playing anyone. I seem to recall the second best small keeper in the league (RZ) being there...does he have a short attention span?

I can't see why Inter gets to keep the points for the tie in the game they played the ineligible player in - they should lose that point as well.

Any info on how the BC berths are to be decided ?

Taxman: We got to keep the point because the game was played and there was no official protest by Columbus...The league rule(s) state that the game is not forfeited but a loss of three points plus a fifty dollar fine is issued. We would have gladly taken the loss since we would be sitting at five points instead of three. Still ahead of you guys BTW...You could always get on the board and change the rule though.... Peter: You fail to see that we had his card given to us by Azzi himself.....something tells me it should have been retained don't you think? I should know since I was the one who picked up the cards.

No SCK, he said that it is an impossible task to be checking every player signed against the list as people are getting their cards done and I agree with him: it would be a nightmare to have to do that with every team in the VMSL lined up waiting.

He put the onus on the teams to check it...and, again, he mentioned the protocol multiple times during the meeting.

Westside 0 - Cliff Ave 1. Like all the games out there today, it was wet and windy. Cliff came at us hard and almost caught us napping in the first 5. Good game back and forth with good chances for both sides. Merks coming up big a few times. Then in the later in the second half, Looee their left defender, who had left his feet numerous times in tackels he didn't win, goes in super hard against JC, also a smidge late. JC holds his ground, Looee goes down, screaming Fcuk no shortage of 50 times. So, he gets a Red, but won't leave the field, insisting he is right, his leg is broken, and everyone is against him. The F word continue for 10 more minutes. Finally, he gets off the field, but won't stop. Miro almost calls the game because of him. Too bad he didn't because with a 5 to go, Cliffside get a scramble secondary ball and bag it for the win. The rest of Cliffside are certainly a quality team. Good win guys. Looking forward to a rematch. Looee - I hope the leg heals.

BRM 3
Wickham 1

Windy and wet sums it up. We went up 2-0 in the first before they pulled one back on a free kick. Second half was pretty uneventful though Reeder our trusty BCSA Prez got his noggin on the end of a great corner by Kelly Bey to seal the deal.

Gotta run to get some turkey,

~Regs.

Out at a, speaking of windy, cold, and lousy park today at Sapperton:

West Van 2 Sapperton 1.

Both sides had penos, the diff was Maros made a great stop off of the Sapp Prem goalie/set piece specialist and Brolly slotted his, even though the Sapp goalie Tom guessed right. WV did score a goal on open play, and WAB buried about a 30 yard dipper on a set piece for them. This game was a bit of a war. Favro was very dangerous all game. Stevie Mac was a monster like I have never seen since his pro days for WV. Besty too in the back. Grrr.

Inter 6 Cracovia nil

Another shutout for us. Albeit against a struggling team. We managed to score a few goals from what I heard....Out of town and unable to help the team out. A good win as we try and make up for our -3 points. Should be ready to play against Regs et al. next weekend for our first road trip.

A few predictions for this week coming up:

West Van hosting VFF...tie.

Wickham hosting Cracovia...Wickham.

Cliff Ave hosting Metro-Ford...Cliff.

Sapperton hosting Columbus...tie.

Westside hosting PCOV...Westside.

Surrey Utd. hosting Inter...Surrey Utd.

God I hope I don't get personally attacked on this site again for this. Especially by a person with the wit, credibility and reputation of Sir M's latest rather odious detractor.

It actually hurt my feeling (sic) this time.

Any other predictions? Most games should be close? Except maybe the Wickham game?

Your thoughts?

(Other the fact that Sir M's spacing on this post looks a bit curious, but I kind of like it)...

Well Sir M full squad tomorrow night for the Friday night special - odd not many plan on driving to the game ... we do have one injury so we tried to call Azzi to have the game postponed but he would have none of it. Nice of you to predict a tie - perhaps we should be playing for a beer ?
PCOV will beat Westside and Columbus will beat Sapp as long as Sapp Park is in "good" shape.

Taxman, a beer it is. You take the Firemen from south of the inlet, and I'll take the Firemen from north of the inlet.

wouldn't call that a success over the Cracks, it looks like they gave you a game.

Yup. They even scored. I'd like to know how they bagged one Coleman. Did I miss the score Sir M.?
