And GN was playing with 10 guys....pretty boring game.

Fighting to avoid relegation and only having 10 guys show up? Shocking! (or was it due to a red card?)

Re: [VMSL Div 1] November 2008/09 Results, Predictions, & Banter

My best guess would be both abandoned games will be results against Ladner. The first game was due to the lights going out while they were losing 2-0 to Leopards. Even if they make them play the remaining 15-20 mins, I doubt ladner will score 2 or 3 goals to get points. The other abandoned game was due to an incident between Ladner players and a referee, and that usually ends up in the league awarding the match to the opposing team. So I think you guys have safely avoided relegation.

That would be my guess too. RCIU will receive the points in the abandoned game and the game with the lights will stay with AFC since they were leading. As long as 70 minutes had been played, I believe it will go as an AFC win.

No red cards....just not enought guys. GN had a midfielder in net.

CS, ask Carlos if he had Dave Morris's shin pads:rolleyes:.

Huge 4-2 win for Westside today to keep us safe and out of the relegation zone. Our center midfielder, Mike Batke, had a second half brace to put the game out of contention in what may be his last game for the club (moving out of town). He'll be tough for us to replace, but he sure went out with style...

Congratulations to Sapperton who clinched promotion today with a 4 - 1 win over Romania. Well done to WAB and company.

Sapp 4 - Romania 1

Scored in 18 seconds, another 5 minutes later. Game over. We sucked after that. Chris Todd with the first 2. The 3rd was an OG 10 before half - great header into the top shelf. He tried to finish another one but the goalie was on to him. A missed PK by Jeff as well in the first- should have been a blowout.

Most of us are off to Portugal to celebrate the Div 1B championship.:)

Perhaps a warmup to the Imperial Cup if the draw is right. It would be an interesting game that a lot of us would like to see. I'll be calling Sandy soon enough.:)

Well done to the Sapp boys - Congratulations on promotion...

Good riddance to games with no linsemen and teams wearing different coloured socks and shorts. ;)

Yep, it's nail biting time for Primo. Rough season from start to finish. Between injuries and flaky players it's been a nightmare. I have never been on a team that was outscored like this season and it sucked. Here's to hoping we stay up and regroup!

Congrats to Sapp, best of luck in Premier.

Who won between Cliff Avenue and Akal? I can't see it on the site.

Captain, I believe Cliff Ave. beat Akal yesterday night. I'm not sure of the score.
