If I ran the club I would gladly do that and start from scratch, but unfotunately I'm just another player in the club.

Poco Express

Your right Skytrain:

Most of the Poco Express players had definetly past their prime, (and I use the word prime lightly!!) It was an excellent move by the club to give everyone a chance to play at the approriate level. Having Pete Howker coach the Cat team was also a great move. Poco has definetly taken the right strides to keep the club succesful for many years. (aka: old bastards like you Skytrain!!)

Scouser still upset about the merger with Tayside though. I thought we could have been succesful independently!!

Promotion & Demoted

If Surrey Peg came last & Surrey Rangers came first in Div 1 cat Surrey City club would have the option of keeping there team up there that's why they have the Surrey Storm on the other side of Div 1 so they can keep all there options open as a club . This is the same plan we are planning on doing also so you can secure your Premier spot & have 3 strong teams plus a U-21 team.

Any replys to this are any of the other clubs donig this for the next season other than Poco City & Surrey City. This also gives you 2 chances at making a run at the BC's.:)

Promotion and demotion

Is that true?

A club can retain it's premier team spot if it's reserves win the CAT division?

How do other clubs get promoted into premier then?
It seems to narrow their chances.
If a team sees that they will be last, they can then just stack their reserve side to win the CAT.

I don't think I'm reading into this correctly.

Skytrain and Scouser you can both go screw yourselves. (or each other if you like)

Scouser,

Is it true that where ever you live the property values go down and you force your neighbours to move?;)

Why would Surrey always want to keep teams the same and in the same division? Rangers are a much stronger team than S. Peg, would make sense to put both teams together and players for Prem and Cat, guess not in Surrey, where's the pride, why would you not want to play the best football you could?

Ranger why is it that you keep down in Div 1? My guess is you'd get your but kicked and your weak old bodies could not handle the weekly beating. And don't give some lame excuse like "its better for the young guys to play premier and get beaten every week for the learning experience"

This is the purpose the league is trying to do is make all the teams in premier have cat teams so they won't get sent down but for surrey they will probably get demoted & aldergrove there Div1 side does well if there in the top 2 they will get promoted but if a team was on the verge of getting demoted your right they could get there team back up there with there cat team . The league is just getting ready for when they decide to join the VMSL , FVSL , VISL & call it a super league.:)

The Cat and Premier team should be considered as one. If the Premier team is bottom of the league and being demoted, both teams should get dropped.

Skytrain,

Rangers stronger than Peg? Maybe if they'd play us a game we'd find out eh Ranger? ... ;)

Peg getting beat every week? Excuse me Skytrain but SC Pegasus has
-won more than we've lost
-beat 2/4 teams ahead of us in the standings
-beat all three teams who've beaten your *glory* team - Poco

Sure we're a new team this year and all but I'd say we're doing ok. We could've played better in our two games against you though losing by two in each isn't terrible

As for the Rangers, if they keep blaming 'rain' ;) on the reason they can't play us, then I guess SC Pegasus will have to do our best to make the Pak final so we can play them ....

You can run Ranger but you can't hide!

Dodgy fcuks we Rangers are.....

Hey, how does discussions about promotion/demotion all of sudden involve us?

Flame, there you go talking shite again.
I swear, you little girl's blouse, that you have a deep down sexual desire about us.
I cannot explain it otherwise. :D

I, of course, disagree emphatically on your opinion about us vs. our premier team.
And, I can guarantee that every single player on my team feels that way.
We like the looks of our premier team and froth at the mouth in anticipation of seeing them knocking you off your lofty perch.
Kind of like how we did it last year. :p

I do agree that we're not up for the challenge of premier on a weekly basis.
Yeah, we're old and lazy I guess.
Not to sound arrogant but been there done that also.
We have only one mandatory practice a week.
But we still seem to get a lot of guys out, but like I said it's not mandatory.
Everyone gets pretty much at least half games unless everyone is out, whereas sometimes it's tough to make a billion subs.
Key point: everybody plays.

I dunno.
The league wanted us in the show but we declined when we saw our revamped program.

Two years ago we were doing nothing.
Then win league and presidents.
But it wasn't easy, Fort Islanders were around then.
Then, win league and Pakenham.
Looks like we have a good chance of winning the league again.
We look at it a lot less seriously than a premier team does. Period.
We do take the cup run serious and sometimes guys will not see the pitch.

We want to stay together as a team and we have many players that wouldn't get playing time in the show.
I consider myself one of those players.

Sorry if people think we're stacking the deck and think we're a bunch of candy-asses for not playing premier.
We can live with it though because we have a good time and a good laugh.
I think if we went up a lot of us feel it wouldn't be as fun anymore and it would taint our comraderie.

Oh fcuk, enough already, I hate having to explain ourselves all the time.

Fcuk you, fcuk all of you........................

Where's my soapbox?

Has anyone seen my soapbox? I think Skytrain borrowed it, because he's making sense.

Bullocks...I think Skytrain was speaking hypothetically. So, hypothetically speaking:

-Let's say SC Peg stunk it up in Premier and finished dead last. Even if the SC Rangers (Reserves) blew everyone away (as usual), SC Peg should be demoted. The only way that SC could keep their premier spot would be if the Storm could earn promotion through the 1st division (check the standings, they look like they will win the division). Since the Rangers are, in theory, a Reserve side, their spot should disintegrate. The problem this presents is that it leaves a bunch of players without teams, but in a large club like SC, it shouldn't be a problem to accommodate them. Besides, when a Premier team fails as miserably as Surrey United is this year, they should re-build anyhow. The idea is, the Premier and Reserve teams are to be treated as one.

Now, in SC's case, the above scenario wouldn't happen, because the club is too strong to let it happen. The clubs toughest decision will probably be next year, after the Storm win Div. 1, but then are narrowly defeated by the SC Royals in the President's Cup Final:D .

SLIVER...

Hey buddy , don't get so bent out of shape by the banter of these pedestrians . They (SKYTRAIN and SCOUSER) obviously don't have any class . I wonder how old they were when they learned to go pottie , or if that stench means that they still don't .
Regarding soccer , I think your versatility speaks for itself . You can play on the back line without "rippling your own onion bag", and I'm sure I've seen you score goals with more than just one appendage .
SKYTRAIN : you better be nice or I won't let you find candy in my pockets any more .
SCOUSER : I think you might be still be bitter because you haven't gotten over Frisco's closing . Hell , who has ?

Hey Snowman:

Why did you have to bring Frisco's into it!!!!

That's the reason I decided to get married. What else was there to do on a Friday & Saturday ??

Skytrain:

Playing against you only required me using my left foot. I didn't have to unleash the fury of the right:D :D

Silver:

The new neighbours are great, but I don't understand why the cops are there everynight!!!

Did I piss on the wrong snowman? It's ok, take a prozac you'll be fine. Or maybe you could get some Viagra from BJ ;) Just don't take the candy away.:D

Dude,

your bang on, on the hypothetically speaking comment. Teams should not have the luxury of staying where they are, each club has all year to show why they should have a team in premier, if they can't do it in league play demote them and the Cat as well, then have the Club on deck get promoted to fill their spot. This year Surrey United and Aldergrove should be gone.

I find it so funny how everyone is worrying about SFC. Doesn't that seem kinda odd? Maybe everyone is frighten about the danger that all of our teams create. No one needs to worry about a SFC team finishing in last, especially from premier, Div 1 CAT, or Div 1. I guess a lot of people will be surprised when SC Peg and the Rangers meet in the Pak final.:D

Dec 7-9 predictions

I guess it's time to get some predictions going for this weekend:

Townsend Park Rangers 2 Delta Metro United 1- TP with the home field advantage.

Surrey City Pegasus 3 GEU Ultra 1- GEU are having another one of their slumps and will fall again this weekend.

Peace Arch United 4 Aldergrove United 0- Not much to say here, 4 -0 is being conservative.

Surrey United Poco City Dominion - won't predict a score, but poco with the W.
