Only saw the first half of the club I vs Westside game, imo it was an even game with Club I having the better of the chances, DZ should have finished his chance that went a wide of the goal and as I was leaving in the 2nd CI Champ missed an absolute sitter on the header 7 yards out. Westside looked like they were a pass away on several breaks but to say that it should have been 4 nil suprises me, was it a different game in the second half?

Not at all, Animal. In fact, Westside had trouble getting out of their end......until the giveaway.....

even game with Club I having the better of the chances

delusional "posts" on club i behalf just continue. we hit two posts and had one saved point blank in the first half. you missed those did you animal? second half was crap. cis did have a free header, but beyond that and some forward pressure, i don't recall anything really threatening. we scored a screamer and had one cleared off the line after burnro was beaten (our player, had every right to just hit the turf (better described as dirt at mcnair).
i guess, yet again, it was just more bad luck for a richmond based squad that deserved to win. hard lines captain.
moving on...again.

The game was a battle, but to say that Club I deserved the win is just biased rubbish. I thought Club I fought well and scrapped it out but were always going to resort to the 'see ball, kick ball really far and see where it ends up' tactics.
We had trouble at times stringing some stuff together on that cow pasture but, as Smallstuff alluded to earlier, the better chances were definitely had by Westside. Good luck to Club I the final road in and on to the mighty Sporting.

Looking forward to the next 'uncharacteristic' post CS:rolleyes:

Anyway, Club I controlled the second half. Big deal. Good luck against Sporting, Smallsy and Dancing Bear. :)

Predictions for the quarters:

-Sporting to win 3-nil over Westside
-Indo over FF 3-2 AET...Bonus prediction: An Alan Ferris sighting at the Richmond casino later that evening, with a leaning tower of .25 cent chips on roulette numbers 3 and 2 of course. Shortly thereafter, most likely also a bomb threat at the Side Door made from a pay phone at the aforementioned gambling establishment
-Peg vs. WVan: Match postponed, as Coach Kenno and the WVan gaffer decide to go to Kelowna instead
-Croatia over SU 3-1: Ollie with a hatrick, Sulentic with 3 assists...or vice versa.

Best of luck,
RR

We started the game on the back foot and Westside had every chance at being up by AT LEAST 3 at the half had they been able to finished their chances. Club I is fortunate to go into the half level. We pressured more in the 2nd half but again couldn't create much, but a blown sitter from yours truly from about 6-7 yards out :( Always a hard battle against Maze, Smally, DB & Jammo....I still can't believe the aging rear guard kept us quiet, rather gutted.

Good luck to the remaining teams in the Cup.

Ferris has given up on the bomb threats. They're SOOOOOOOO 1989. :D

I'd be surprised if there were 5 goals in our game against the Firemen......REALLY surprised. I hope you're right with the prediction mind you.........:D

I'll predict 3 of the 4 games.........

WV ( I honestly think they're they best team we've played this year and if everyone is available, it will be tough for Peg....but there is more that comes into play here. WV in OT or Penalties.

Sporting - will win handily if Westside fields the team they did last week.

Croatia/SU - penalties (don't know who is better at this point)

ICST/Firemen - NEVER predict a game I'm involved in

Good luck to everyone, except the Firemen. :D
