It would be awesome if LUFC and LU Youth built a 4 change room brick building similar to what SFC has a NAP with a clubhouse above. This could be built to the North of the two turf fields between the asphalt path and the new Langley Events centre.

Lots of parking, lots of room... would be magic, especially seeing as we have been given the boot from MAP for semi-pro american throwball and minor throwball

Do they not look at registration numbers before deciding on who gets the premier facilities FFS!?

JBN...isn't MAP a multi-use stadium? Where else should Langley Junior football play? You know, they actually get a crowd, and do a bang up game-day presentation. Soccer players show up, take shitty care of the rooms, don't clean up, some have even fired up the hippy letuce on premiss. Who would you chose to let use a 1st class facility? Groups who actually treat it as such, or disrespectfull idiots?

I know I'm painting us all w/ the same brush here- and I know there are a lot of very respectful teams, but look at it from the City (or Township?) viewpoint: you have two groups to pick from: one has alternatives, one doesn't. One shows respect for the facility, the other has been mixed w/ results. One actually uses the facility for the full scope of it's intent, the other..meh.

Right, but really the pitch(es) are in better shape at WAP, I'd rather play at WAP, but the lack of changerooms, especially for the masters and prem lot, is shocking.

For a club of our size (14 teams in all) to not even have changerooms, nevermind a club house, is appalling. We have SFC with what, 3 teams, at NAP with that Beauty, and Surrey United at CAP with theirs... damn. :(

Youth football could be played at WAP, or on the grass at McLeod park (MAP)

You are right about the changerooms though. Some teams did abuse the priviledges badly with hippy lettuce, not cleaning up the mess, lipping off the groundskeeper, etc... It's too bad a few bad apples ruined it for all of us.

Now let's get a club sponsor and build a field house.

Won't the BCPL require proper changerooms ;)

This is way off topic, but everyone thinks it's easy to get a "Sponsor" for an endeavor like this. It isn't. In fact,it is nothing but extremely difficult. I did nothing but chase down sponsors for my kid's other sport this summer...and though somewhat successful, it was a thankless endeavor.

A project like that would take several sources to complete, plus you need to go through the municipal permit process. Try that- I have- and come back sane. On top of that, the libs have pulled gaming funding, so there goes that small amount of cash.

Not to be too negative, but you have a pie in the sky theory based on fantasy, not reality. Better to just make good w/ the city, get access to the new arena rooms, and provide access only to certain teams who agree to sign a club code of conduct.

Dood,

Did you not notice the soap box? :D

I hear ya, absolutely. I know that the clubs I mentioned above either rescued the failed facility or were part of the consultation for the facility, at the parks I mentioned.

To do this after the fact, in a recession, at a park like that could be very hard.

Unless you have a local businessman looking for PR and a writeoff? (Fraserdowns Casino and track? ETP? :D )

mmmmmmmmmm.... pie..............

Uhh .. huh?

Our SFC/SYSA is more than 2500 members including youth and adult (FVSL, VMSL). The youth squads use the changerooms too BTW - it's not just us Rangers and Strikers.

Actually the Strikers seem to enjoy having the changeroom when we don't lock them out!!

In my opinion NAP is a joke. We have not had access to a changerooms in our last 3 appearances. strikers and rangers play at the same time and the visitors are left in the rain....bush league

I call bullshit, as everytime it was raining we sucked it up and shared a room with the Rangers so the visitors had a room to share. And there are 4 changerooms now so it won't be an issue at all anymore.

I call bs too, last time we played was at your park. Correct me if I am wrong but stallion and his lot have been in surrey for 1 year!?!?! and I guess we will have to come up with more excuses now that we have (not finished yet) 4 changerooms.

anyway...

Back to it.

My ASS is reporting Abby and Prt. Moody are knotted at 0's at half. I questioned MY ASS about the run of play and he said it was even thus far, but he feels they're (Abby) still the better side.

Ah, guys, the united unification week is over.

My ASS reports Prt Moody was lucky to go into half tied, but that Abby was lucky to finish tied.

Well at this rate, the suicide pool will be decided by who doesn't forget their picks last

At least I'm through which, at the end of the day, is all that really matters.
