I have no idea which one is the MOTW this week. None of the matchups strike me as "big games"

Anyone else think there's anything interesting this week?

Yoda
White Rock - ND United Alumni looks intriguing....Is White Rock a contender or Pretender? Is NDUA just a bunch of players who used to be good.

Ouch, used to be good? We are aiming for top 5 this season and possibly higher with some help along the way.We need to tidy up our game a bit,but with all these used-to-be- gooders,we'll be ok. We'll start our climb up the ladder against the White Rock pretenders sunday night!!

Being one of those players that "used to be good", I can feel your pain. Shoot low...he's pretty good covering the top half of the net.

There don't appear to be many exciting games this weekend.

If I have to pick one - Mission VS PAU if this is the right PAU team.

Tidy up? How about parking your center back nice and tight on the goal line with the keeper.8 goals against in your last 3!!!

Sure you've potted a few against the Heat (the leagues punching bag),

and what a quality game that looks like it was v PAU.

We'll see what WR can "pretend" to do on Sunday then?

South Delta vs All Blacks MOTW.

All Blacks are a bit of a spoiler team with some good results. South Delta appear to be on a slippery slope.

They lost by a goal to Delta United who are one of the 3 strongest teams in the league and they tied Mission who is also one of the 3 or 4 strongest teams in the league. So don't underestimate the mighty All Blacks.

I see a couple sketchy results from "The Rock" as well.

See you sunday night. Good luck!

Re: [FVSL Masters] - Results and Banter Oct '09

HOS, thanks for not mentioning Mission to be near the top!

PAU 2 Mission 3 on the frozen tundra in S. Surrey.

Mission ahead 3-nil in 10 minutes with a OG to the top corner, a great pass from the keeper to an open striker, and then a long ball into the box flicked into the far post.
Mission had a short bench, so they sat back in the second and let PAU attack, so they were able to get 2 back in the last 10 minutes off a PK and a deflection to the top corner, but Millsy made two good saves to get the victory.
Mission works hard, are dangerous around the goal, and WILL battle for a top 3 spot in the league.

How many Peace Arch teams do you play for HOS.

Also I guess I'll eat my words on the All Blacks, South Delta game.

One JTL, it is the Peace Arch "Club", players can move around where needed. It is what the Club system is all about or at least thats what I thought the league was trying to do with 7 "call ups" allowed each week.

Tought game for Poco against the Heat, how many can you get today?

In the FVSL "call ups" are allowed. But since the FVSL places the Master's Division at the bottom of all of their lists, then they must consider the Masters as their lowest form of soccer. If players from any Division are allowed to play in the Masters, then the FVSL will have to reconsider the quality of the Master's Division and move them to the top of their Division's Lists.

But you have to be 35, so who cares where you are signed, you have to be of Masters age, so go out and play, it is just Masters soccer, it is just about getting a run and having fun.

Not true! The only reason you use Premier plays in the Master's Division, is so that you can keep at the top of the division and qualify for Provincials. In the end, the Premier players can not play in the Master's Provincial Cup competitions and therefore the FVSL is misrepresented in the Provincials.

Dissapointed today. Our guys took the day a little lightly.

Thank god for the 85th minute PK to tie it up.

We were on the ropes but we pulled a point from a game that should have been a guarantreed 3.

Guys had better show up ready to play next week instead of sleepwalking like in today's debacle.
