Ooops.
Just re-read.
Rookie night Sunday.
My bad.

Best rookie at rookie night was Rocko one year.
The lad did it all that night.
Hopefully he passes on some tips to keep HV and whoever from having stuff come out of both ends and lasting the night.

Did you pick up the pickles Rocko?

I hate pickles

Oh yeah bring out the pickles so I can chuck for sure. Lets put fermaldahide and brine into me after too many drinks?? Tell me that doesn't work!

Rocko pickles? I don't even want to know.

HV's prepared for pretty much anything.

Psssst HV:
The pickles don't go in your mouth.

We don't have a dancing pickle so, I reiterate:

Oh Ranger you had to go there

My worst fears have now been laid out for me and now I don't even want to go. Ahhhhhh...no pickles or somebody's dead!

Scavenger Hunt eh? Hmmm...what do I win? Drinks, humiliation, girls in my pants?

Looking forward to the good times.

Rocko the pickle guy

Hey Mr. Pickles how's the pickle today? Whoa...I don't need an answer for that thanks.

I think we should be focussing on Scott and Fish for the rookie night. They're younger, able to drink more, and deserve a good puke session. I've had mine for the month. Ask Mc Gill.

I have been reluctant to post given our current status as the worst team this side of Kabul, but the above post called out for an intelligent interjection. With regard to Rocco and his pickles, hey who hasn't done that at least once? (Cucumbers are part of the pickle family right?). In fact, I think Van Wilder is currently living "common law" with an oversized dill.

Coaching will not be a problem this weekend as I'm pulling out all the stops. We are going to be playing a new formation and it's called the Hungarian Box (sorry RF it's got nothing to do with that European porn you like). This offensive formation will see all but two of our players inside the opposition's 18yd box fighting for long searching balls that are sent in. We need to show how Hungary we are for a goal. If only McGill could attack a scoring chance with the same energy he dedicates to a "double cheeseburger" meal.

Other coaching moves:

Rich and Gnu will be alternating in the goalie position every 5 minutes (Thank you Mike Keenan)

Left wing lock: Darren Maxwell plays the left side with a pace that looks as though his gears have locked

Heaney Rants: Chris will begin the game with an off topic rant that will hopefully loosen the guys up

I have asked Sean Lightfoot to provide his teammates with some tips on how to maintain your composure on the sidelines (and keep your veins from popping)

I have other ideas but don't want to give up all the secrets. If none of this works I guess I 'll have to rip off my shirt again!

oscar's desparation

Desparate times call for desparate measures!! The formentioned solutions may work but you may want to ask the club for the Delta Blues that we so graciously returned. Get #12 it was ripped in the first game ever and Bunny had to sew it back together. Maybe getting away from the red and white might help.

Good luck and it looks like rookie night will be a good time for some. Have fun and watch out for Oscar after a few guys are drunk!!!! I know he has his eyes on Cookie but I think a drunk soccer player will do.

Langley 4 vs Geu Blacknights 1

Well Demo finally returned to the lineup, even though it was for about ten minutes and still managed to causesome turnovers and almost pop one in. Just a couple more week till back to 100%.
Geu took the early lead with a major miscue on our part the sent them in on a breakaway, but it really didn't phase us as we dominated this game which could have been a blowout. We we took the pressure to them and tied up the game with about 15 left in the half and with a couple of minute to go, a great corner found its way to Chucks head and into the back of the net.
In the second it was pretty much the same with Geu only being able to press a couple of times. Gus popped in two more for us to make it 4 - 1 and Geu made it 4-2 with a great pass from our sweeper right across our 18 and onto the feet of their striker.
It was a great win for Langley who is definately finding its stride now.

Not alot to say except it was fricken chilly out on the pitch today!
Something has to be said about teams that don't have a change
room for teams to change or shower in?(oops sorry delta, let's
just build some first class lit fields, and not let the lads shower!)
Enough of rant,3-1 and the dream season continues.Welshy on a brilliant header to start it off,Halvy on a nicely taken second. And
some #8 on a give and go to finish!Glenny Knights was fricking
brilliant .Not only did he play well, but the kid stopped 3 clean
breakaways. All in all it was pretty ugly today, but once again the soccer gods were with us!

kelly o's made another million
today.that's for sure!!!!!!!!!

happy rem day boys,coach.

Rookie night

first our match, even though we are on a slide of losing we definetely should be disapointed even though we tied 0-0.We controlled more of the game great getting into the 18 just can't finish. That has been our story all year 11 goals for in ten games ain't gonna cut it. Poco should feel lucky to get the tie skurr made a few good saves he must have learned from his mentor;) Anyways we must find a way to score like nic.j does with the ladies if only he could finish in soccer like he does in a club he would be leading the league with goals.Rookie night was great roosters was packed huge line to get in but nic with the connections gets us in. Oscar couldn't make it out tonight he found out there was two hours of golden girls on the tube. The rookies all did real well and should be congratulated :wa: :knvb: :bronco:

Hungover rookie here

Well the night was for sure a success! Roosters was great, busy, and full of cowgirls who wanted to knock boots. Nic getting us in early was capital! Tim drooling on a sister, gnu looking like married man even had fun, millhouse scavenger hunt not bad at all. Well thought out!

Oscar 2 hours of Golden Girls?? I heard it was My little Pony and Friends that kept him home.

Our game was so much fun in the rain. If Nick and Nic could finish we would have won. Sound like Razor when I say that but we could have, should have, just didn't.

Fellow rookies we did good! Fish passing out in cowboy boots it must have been a good night. :wa: :wa:

AU Razor

Why do you dress for the games and sit on the side? Small man mentality? As for a post a few weeks back about Razor charging a steep reg fee to pay for his computer, not so. I think it is to pay all his outstanding debts at soccer stores all over the mainland. Keep up the good work from the side where you belong because you sure are shite on the pitch!!!

Just checked the Div. 1 standings for the first time in a while.

# Team GP W T L GF GA PTS
1 Surrey FC Rangers 10 10 0 0 30 9 30
2 Poco City United 10 6 1 3 21 14 19
3 Poco Raiders 10 6 0 4 13 12 18
4 Aldergrove United 10 4 1 5 17 15 13
5 Delta Metro Highlanders 10 4 1 5 10 16 13
6 Centro Americano 10 4 0 6 16 18 12
7 Alouette United 9 3 2 4 13 15 11
8 Langley United FC A 9 3 0 6 13 16 9
9 Surrey Sporting 9 2 2 5 11 20 8
10 GEU Black Knights 9 2 1 6 13 22 7

I thought with all the talk of the Highlanders lack of scoring and such ("trying to avoid relegation", etc...), that they would be sitting near the bottom- but they're in 5th!?

I suppose the Rangers so-far-perfect season means that the race for 2nd is all that much more important. The Raiders continue to get results (but they're really shitty, right Demo???:D). The other teams that should be challenging for promotion (due to no affiliation w/ Premier teams) would be Aldergrove, Central Americano (is that a coffee, or what???), Alouette, Langley FC, and Surrey Sporting. Alouette is close enough, with a game in hand. Sporting seems out of it now, and are battling to avoid relegation. The others seem too far out at this point too. The Raiders are only a point behind Poco United, and Aldergrove a full 5 points behind the Raiders.

So, assuming that the league finishes off with the same group in the top 4, what does the league do? United was top of the table last year...should the league try to broker a deal whereby they go independent, and get promoted to Premier? How about the Storm or Lions in Cat (assuming they can make a push to win that division)? Is the Cat strong enough right now to justify promoting a team out of there?

Do you guys see anyone (besides those stacked and studly Rangers) in this division ready to compete in Premier?

Dude- tryingtostimulatediscussion.
