It kills me to say it, but TheRob was very good in goal last night.

First goal was offside, but who cares about that. The call that was the most confusing is Scurr getting called for having the ball at his feet longer than 6 seconds. Well done, Herb.

Any time Skurr has the ball at his feet it is considered foul so Herb got the call right and the Dragons should have had a shot.

EXACTLY! I was told last year that sliding of any kind was not tolerated AT ALL (it was a et rule) so that there was no confusion. This year they say it's okay to slide if no one's around but it's already becoming an issue cause people are sliding for goals or they try to get away with a slide and get called cause someone happened to be around them. And it only seems to be happening more....


As much as I hated the fact that I couldn't slide at any time (if no one was around and to keep the ball on the pitch for example) I think it eliminated these issues!

That's my two cents anyway....

Just to set the record straight - and thanks for causing the controversy Rob - the sliding was not bad. One was actually a fall by a girl (not me) who happened to pull off her fall into a perfect tackle, the slide coming from the other side was not very memorable either...but leave it to coed to blow things out of proportion

Me too. We borrowed a player, i wont mention any names, to play in net for us as our team failed to produce any subs on Sunday night. The unnamed Young Gun let in 6 goals! We would have been better off playing short on the field and using our own player in goal.

Damn, back in the relegation zone again.

Beernuts vs. Allover United 1-0 for the good guys!

Game started off about 45 minutes late as we were kicked off Reeves' turf and sent to the grass field with the sprinklers on and Herb had no idea what to do. We tried calling the parks board but the over paid & lazy city worker was off and couldn't be bothered to turn off the sprinklers so we played through them!

Herb was at his best... had absolutely no idea what he was calling, what was going on, etc so the game got a little outta hand near the end. The best part was Herb saying he was only going to ref 10 minutes of our second half since he was there at 6:30pm so his shift was done and he wanted full pay! Both teams ended up telling him that he had to finish the half which ended in a 1-0 Beernuts win!

The Grapevine reports Cheatside came up big with a 6-1 thrashing last night of the Young Guns.

Early reports indicate Cheatside went up 4-1 early in the second half and an un-named YGer proceeded to walk off the field, pack his bag, and go home
