Basically Umbro is out of a limb here saying the Caps breached their contract by using the WFC logo on Adidas gear, but are the MLS Caps the same as the Tier 2 Caps?

Exactly, I don't see the Caps Brass acting like the Div2 Incarnation of WFC is the same as the MLS Incarnation... They are selling MLS Stuff.

@ Regs, that is nobody's fault... It's seems like a last minute cash grab to rape what they can from WFC after years of partnership...

And you can still by Umbro Caps gear, no? Sour grapes is totally what it sounds like, I would assume that no one is buying the D2 stuff at the games since MLS is just around the corner.

I'm kinda surprised at your answer JBN.

Umbro isn't the party here who strained the relationship after years.

Selling the new stuff at current Whitecap games while another brand has rights and a contract is dodgy IMO. A jersey isn't exactly stitched up once an order comes in, these things are made in quantities based on projected demand.

I may take back what I said. Since I've missed a lot of games and the ones I've been at I've been plastered, are they selling the MLS gear at current games? If they are I see Umbro's point. I also think Umbro would have been very stupid to think that projected demand would be very high and printed a ton of jerseys given that they know MLS is coming.

From the info I have, there has been an ADIDAS tent set up directly beside the Umbro merchandise area at Swangard.

Not cool from a business standpoint in my opinion.

If that's true then its a shambles... I DO know that you physically cannot but an mls caps shirt... So really all they are selling is that generic white tshiry hat and hoody... As well as the mow scarf.
If an Adidas tent is right there beside the Umbro tent...shady to way the least.
