I cannot believe they're continuing... if you've got any liquidity, get it into the Gold Mining Majors trading on the TSX, not the NYSE. Goldcorp up 8%, Newgold up 12% today, Barrick up 10, and on and on...These guys were already way undervalued. you could see all time highs on Gold Prices, the Canadian Dollar and some of these companies.
Not sure why the comment was there about a learner's licence violation as that is not in the story. But that is not relevant to the liability situation for his and the g/f's injuries. The oncoming car hitting them is clearly liable IF the events transpired as they sound.
As to the g/f not in the story - many reasons including the severity of her injuries where she's not out in a wheel chair to be interviewed and photographed.
Was he smart to do it again rather than tell her to park and they'd drive her home? Even no, doesn't change liability here.
Guys, don't read the comments section on a troubling/sad story. This is where the trolls hang out and it induces rage and elevated levels of blood pressure and unneeded stress.

Well done to this young lad and his missus for doing the right thing.
Also you might not have much coverage on the missus as you can recover from a "broken leg and back injuries" a lot more smoothly than a "broken neck" This young lady might have lawyered up already and potentially was advised to not comment or receive any media attention.
You'd think ICBC should cover this, but ICBC is a Govt Crown Corp monopoly in the Insurance business and they will do whatever they can to avoid paying Benefits to Premium payers... where our premiums continue to be escalated year over year.
