Since biblical times, bribery has been a powerful lobbying tool you know...

Staff advise this week's rankings should be posted in the next hour or two...

Oops sorry Mrs Sir M has changed plans for this eve...rankings not out tonight!

Ok, eight weeks in the books, seven on the North Shore (seven and a half in Newfoundland). Staff this week it appears to have made a couple rather controversial rankings, perhaps this will stimulate a little more debate this week. In any event, its time for this week's version of:

Sir M's Excellent Power Rankings:

1. Surrey United (Last Week's Rank: 1) Summarily dismissed VMSL champs and former #3 West Van way out in Cloverdale this Sunday. Undefeated thus far.

2. Sapperton Rovers (Last Week's Rank: 2) Hold their position after their narrow defeat of SFU up on the hill on Friday evening. Top of side "A".

3. Westside F.C. (Last Week's Rank: 5) Up two after their home defeat of a resurgent Richmond Utd. on Sunday. Columbus up next.

4. Metro Ford Wolves (Last Week's Rank: 6) Up two spots after tying a very tough Inter away.

5. ICSF Inter (Last Week's Rank: 7) Continue to move up in the Rankings, big game against West Van coming up this weekend. The sausage offer didn't hurt either.

6. Columbus F.C. (Last Week's Rank: 8) Defeated a beleagured Wickham side at Griffin on Friday, always a tough place to get a result. Players coming back now.

7. Peace Arch United (Last Week's Rank: 9) An emphatic thumping of last place GEU moves the FVSL leaders up two spots, it would have been more had it been over a higher ranked side.

8. Vancouver Firefighters (Last Week's Rank: 4) Drop a big four spots after drawing PCOV at home. Have only won one game thus far this year.

9. West Van F.C. (Last Week's Rank: 3) Drop 6 spots after not showing up against Surrey. Will be out of the top 10 if they don't do better against Inter this weekend.

10. Surrey F.C. (Last Week's Rank: 10) Still not on the form they were last year, eke-ing out a close one at home. Hold their position though.

11. Portugese Club of Vancouver (Last Week's Rank: 11) Tying VFF was a good result, they maintain their spot. SU next on the turf, should be competetive.

12. Cliff Ave. Utd. (Last Week's Rank: 16) Big win on the weekend, Div 1 leaders are a force.

13. Wickham F.C. (Last Week's Rank: 12) A loss on Friday to Columbus drops them one spot.

14. Richmond F.C. (Last Week's Rank: 13) Showing signs of life, but the 4-2 loss to Westside drops them one spot. SFU next at home.

15. Aldergrove Utd. (Last Week's Rank: unranked) Third place in the Valley now, hammered last week's #20 Sapperton Old Boys 4-1.

16. Mission F.C. (Last Week's Rank: 14) A good effort against SFC, but a loss, down two.

17. Coveside F.C. (Last Week's Rank: 17) Defeating Malones by but one goal does not move them up.

18. SFU Alumni (Last Week's Rank: 19) Move up one spot after a 2-1 loss to Sapperton Rovers at home. This week's match against Richmond could have a great bearing on the relegation issue in VMSL Masters Premier.

19. Nordic F.C. (Last Week's Rank: 15) Down 4 after only defeating B Division LV by two goals on Sunday.

20. Vikings F.C. (Last Week's Rank: 18) Down two after being held to a draw by Norvan.

sir m...staff meeting's should not be held at your local watering hole because it may or has affected teams in the ranking system...ie: if you lose you move up a spot??? a box of italian sausage moves you up in the rankings??? i would recommend the next ranking meeting be held at Portuguese Club and we would provide protection, bifanas and portuguese moon shine for the staff followed by a hold'em game afterwards....this should moves us up 10 spots??? make sure the staff wears hard hats just in case they get out of line...

Funny things happen at the bottom of the rankings SCP. Hopefully you are at the club and got to see one of your countrymen hit that howitzer...against another one of your countrymen.

As soon as Danny quits throwing up, we'll get him over there for a bit of a game...

We have only been around for a while now, but to have us ranked lower than most of your league is simply a joke!

Can you just ask to be taken off the list? I suppose the other teams who were below just move up a notch...if you were to lose to or beat the non-team how would that affect you as a participating member?
