Semi HPL dodging competition?

I'm not sure if this explanation is accurate, but I'm told that my daughter's 1999 team was prevented from playing up a year in this weekend's Coquitlam tournament because of protests by Semiahmoo's HPL team (who wanted to look good by playing a year up too).

This disappoints me but isn't surprising. I think Semi has egg on their face because shortly after getting HPL last year, we beat their 1999 team and then their 1998's. Those wealthy White Rock snobs have unreasonable influence within BC soccer.

My daughter's team lost 4 games this weekend 7 - 0, 3 - 0, 3 - 1, and 5 - 3 in the Langley tournament. I can't believe Gold 1 teams took part in the tournament. How dare them punish the Gold 2 teams who just went out for a kick around? I'm contemplating putting in a protest because the teams were better than our team.
