The glorified boy band Coldplay has a new live album out. It will be the bands last release for a few years so if you get a chance pick it up…. No doubt it has all ready been released in the UK, so keep the trap closed fasty…;)

I can't be expected to know everything.....

Jock,

I had no idea Coldplay had released anything new. Actually I thought they'd packed in as a band and were exclusive to women's magazines like Heat and OK.

Chris Martin was a cnut to have met that frontbum Paltrow while the Barenaked Ladies' 'Will You Be My Yoko Ono' was playing in the background. Silly man.

I'd be interested to hear their live album.

Just to see if Jinky talks over the entire set.

Fastshow,
In that case I hope you enjoy the new album! I saw Coldplay live sometime last year at GM place, and it was an outstanding performance. No doubt the most talented boy band going, not only that I’d give it to Gwenyth…

Sorry for the return post but I forgot to mention that yes, they have packed it in for a bit.

(They) being Coldplay and not The Smashing Pumpkins… Bloody pussies! Couldn’t hack being second best…

That's all right, Jock, as long we all know there's a new Coldplay album out of sorts we'll just have to assume those who depend on this thread for their entire musical existence will manage.

They're bollocksed.

'Grey Day'- Zoot Woman
'Wolves of Miami'- Myo
'Drummer'- Heavy Rock
'Number 1'- Eastwick & Holloway

Well,
It has been a while and I see Fastshow & Sensei still note a real gem every now and then.

Seeing the music industry with its appetite for catchy band names that all seem to rhyme: Hives, vines, stripes, thins, libertines, strokes, bondies, my attention has been and yours should be too at other more discerning pop.
“Stroke” – Aluminum Group
“Leave Luck to Heaven“ - Matthew Dear, LP
“We Will Become Silhouettes“ The Postal Service
“Neon Golden” – Notwist
“Much More Than Much Love” - Finley Quaye, LP

from the vault
“Every Man and Woman Is a Star” – Ultramarine, LP
“Breathe In [Aphrodite Remix]” - Frou Frou
“The Headphone Masterpiece” - Cody ChesnuTT

Finally, and in my opinion No Doubt’s version of “Its my life” is a fcuking travesty, leaving me to list a number of covers that either have done justice or better than the original.
Stars – “This charming man”
Frankie goes to Hollywood – “born to run”
Zoot Woman – “The Model”

minty fresh

hedKandi

BTW, come and see my new band at the Pic, “The flagrant piles”

Hed Kandi,

Good shout on the Frou Frou track. Try the Ben Watt re-mix of Breathe. The man could even make a SubClassic choon minty fresh.

Re: Notwist etc...

Good calls on the Postal Service and Notwist tracks -- though I am more partial to "One with the Freaks" at the moment. I've been high on the Notwist album for awhile now... an underappreciated band for sure. I'll have to check out some of your other selections
