Congratulations to Langley. A very organized well coached team. Well deserved league championship.
Also Westcoast! Another organized team that had a super strong start to the year. Good job on the provincial qualification.

Both these clubs use the "club system" and it shows that it works if run right. The rest of the league should take noted and follow their lead on this. As young skilled players stay out in maple ridge and Langley, this will only strengthen the FVSL. If abbey can set something up like this it would be awesome.

Agreed that the club system, properly organized works very well. It gives you the opportunity the have guys signed down to get extra playing time and a pool of players to draw from. Also, look at the div 1results where Coastal and Westcoast are 1-2 or Port Moody who have been successful with probably the best run club system in the league. The downside is when the top team stays up and the div 1 team wins promotion. I don't think any club wants to field 2 prem teams so the promotion candidates may not be competitive such as with temple this year. So maybe we need to look at whether prem is an 8, 9 or 10 team division each year depending on who is coming up

Sounds to me like the coastal teams are only tied together through name. If they have won top spot they should be given the option to play in premier. And even if they were a legitimate "b" team, if they win the league they should be the team who gets the spot. If they don't want it, it's their spot to decline. Then you have to wonder how far down the table do you go to find someone to go up? It's looking like west coast will take second, and sounded like they don't want it according to mb10. So interesting.

Knvb n his mob will be out cheering for Abby this weekend. Make sure there's a few bottles in addition to the beer for them. Moody's last chance for a prov spot, will they get it ??

Abby did alright this year I guess. Bit of a turn around.

A congrats is def in order for Abby. Started from scratch with the most of their guys leaving (Crockers +). Finished mid table. Won the Pakenheim Cup and City Cup and gave Columbus a run for their money in the first round of prov. Took it to OT to only lose by 1 goal.

Congrats boys
