From the White Rock- Peace Arch derby,

White Rock has just served notice that they have come a long way from 3 years ago .

WR was in control of this game for the better part of 90 min, with the most chances ,

easily should have been 4 or 5 -1. WR defender lost his footing on a turn upfield giving

PA forward a last chance at glory. Unlucky to say the least . PA know that they are

happy to salvage a point. Great game !!

The locals gathered under the talking tree at Abby were treated to a scoreless tie.

What can I say...it was pretty ugly all around. Fast pace and back & forth, yes. Flow and chemistry...no. Felt like a track meet. Way too much running for Masters. This wasn't what I signed up for.

Notables: both side squandered prime chances. We actually had one cross the line in the air, only to be batted out by their keeps before the ref could detect. In fairness, it was the type of goal you'd need a linesman to call, otherwise, from 25 yeards out, too tough to tell.

McNeil rang one off the post early in the match as well.

Anyhow, result was just. My back hurts.

Any interesting games this weekend? Unfortunately Poco has 'scheduling conflict' so we will not be playing. We have a game the following week and then another 'conflict'.

Good weekend overall, hard fought victory for Poco(good hair day too for myself), Langley tied (not a lot of goals being scored on the smelly end of the Golden Ears Bridge), and another charitable day for Millsy. He really is a good guy with a strong social conscience.

By 'scheduling conflict', do you mean that your club president was 'somehow' able to 'negotiate' a weekend off for your team due to it being on Thanksgiving weekend?

I think we'll be lucky to have 11 total from both teams for the Langley darby this weekend.

Watched an afternoon match at Old Hammond with some teammates today. And by teammates i mean a few beers of course. :)

GEU vs South Delta - 2 undefeated teams so far this season.
I was actuallyl dissapointed. Expected a much more skilled match but just didn't see it out there.

South Surrey came away with a 3 -1 win.

I still stick to my analysis that the standings will change dramatically when some of these top few teams start playing the more skilled teams. They'll lose points in a hurry. Don't see South Surrey and Peace Arch FC staying undefeated for much longer.

This ring a bell:D

Cheers!

I hadn't thought of that. I am sure that we'd rather be playing, I would be anyway. We have two weeks off in the next three. I am sure they were all away games

I know Bored, you and Jack have been dying to here what happened Friday night. I actually wasn't feeling very charitable friday night but the rest of my team was. My save percentage was I think 33% (1 for 3) were as Langley's goalie, who had a blinder, save percentage was about 96% (48 for 50). Needless to say the lads are a little disappointed and there was some tension amongst the ranks after not winning 6 or 7 - 0. Rumblings about having too many players and ill timed subsitutions. We are still aspiring though to one day be as good as the new kid on the block, Poco.;)

I was also wondering if your definition of clinical is having the goalie watch the ball go over his head on a free kick without even flinching! They say you get shorter with age.

Millsy I just counted 25 guys signed to Mission. I would venture to say that most games you have too many players. We have 18 healthy players but usually only get 14 or 15 and have a hard time keeping everyone happy while maintaining flow.

If I remember that freekick Stu scored on you it seemed that he wrong footed you a bit and you went the wrong way.

Anyways you guys have a great team and I am sure most people are surprised you dropped two more points last weekend.

Hey 90 Min, if you call kick and run controlling the game. WR did not control the game. You had 2 cracks on goal all game and they were both quality. A cracker from Ted center mid and a free ball from Eric left back. Those were the only sniffs all night. PA coughed up many sloppy balls due to a short bench and injuries. A shame that WR had many players never even see the pitch. Sorry, don't see that big of a difference from 3 years ago except for 2-3 players. We all heard the toungue lashing from Tony afterwards about players wanting to walk off the field. Didn't see a reason for anybody to walk off early. The reff was suspect, but that is becomng all too familiar in this league.

40+, Obviously we saw two different games from either side of the field, did you miss the offside goal ( suspect ) called back , the 3 on 0 that I don't know how the keeper saved it . With regards to coughing up sloppy balls all night , save that for your own dressing room, game is played on the field mate not through excuses. That was emotion at the end of the game you heard. I recall you having one or two (tongelashing moments) in your day also. By the way which of the 3 PA teams are you playing for this week?

Never thought I'd read these words in one post to describe Masters footy.

Well 90, the offside was just that. The shot was going wide and your guy had to make a try and hope he didn't get called, but he did. It was the right thing to do. As for the 3 on 0, well it was a 3 on 0 and it didn't get past the keeper. The sloppy balls comment was fairly witty for sure. As for the emotion, don't know what the coach was complaining about, I thought your guys gave it all for the full 94 minutes. As for me my schedule is pretty busy and just dressing when one team is short bodies for now. I didn't see you on the pitch until afterwards. You injured too ?

Just heard that Poco is running with a team that has an average age of 35.7, how can this be fair in over 35's soccer, most teams are averaging over 40.

I don't think it is a problem, the young guys will dominate at the start, but wait till it starts getting ugly out there, cold and wet, the old guys will take a few extra viagra, and those young poco guys won't want to get into a tackle.

Too bad the O-35's can't enter the Pak Cup, it would be great to see a young Masters team make a run with all these young punk teams.

The Pak should be open to Masters teams but if you played in it you would likely not be able to play in the 0-35s BCs. A team good enough to compete in the Pak would likely want to take a run at the 0-35 BCs and with luck go further in the 0-35s cup than they could expect in Open.

I think those numbers may be skewed HOS as at least four of us have crossed the forty barrier in recent years.

In fact, here is a picture of a spry looking Sliver in action last weekend against Delta.
