Jinky, Steady ripping the immortal Baggio. The guy was like jesus in 94, amazing games vs Nigeria and Spain. He missed the penalty, boy was it ugly, but he carried the team on his shoulders. I think him being in the squad is just to be along with the team share experience and maybe rekindle the Magic:eek:

Are there many Afro-Italians in the World today?

..and maybe rekindle the Magic
I didn't even know Magic played footie... even more surprised he's a WOP!

Does this mean Larry will be suiting up for, erm, the Germans?

Jesus?

Baggio was like Jesus in '94??

I thought he was the divine pony tail or little Budda (or something like that)?

Original?

Woppertone,

Over seven years later and it still hurts doesn't it?
That's what makes it a piss-take little fella.

By the way, you are the last person who should be lecturing anyone on originality.
You are at nearly a half a thousand posts now and at least four hundred of those are repeats.

So I'm going to introduce the new "Coppertone Post Kit".

Now you can post like Coppertone!

Simply use any number of the following words in any order you like, over and over again, to make the same 2 or 3 obvious and / or self-delusional points again and again until the end of time.

Try It Now!

moron, habs, their, there, they,re, inter, fcuk, fcuking, stupid, knvb, lerb, agree, apprentice, goaltenders, injured, excuses, vote, with, the, a, Italian, Yankees, Captain, wifebeater, facts, gotta, awesome, GO, playoffs, stanley cups, finnaly, jackass, habs, knob, win, loose, looser, habs, horrible, lucky, slurrey, Michael Jordan, stupid, (sp), I, me, us, we, prediction, lock, habs, fcuk, no, defence, to, too, wab, smiley face, smiley face, pork chops, shite, team, best, suck, cracker, against, MJ, habs, hey, shite, post, blah, blah, blah

That's probably more than enough.
Have fun.

TSN PULLS THROUGH FOR VIEWERS

TSN's World Cup coverage starts Saturday
(Nov 29) tsn.ca - TSN has acquired the rights to broadcast the 2002 World Cup of Soccer from South Korea and Japan with a comprehensive schedule that will include 59 live games and nearly 200 hours of total coverage.

"TSN is thrilled to continue its tradition of delivering to Canadians the World Cup of Soccer, the world’s largest and most anticipated single international sports event," said TSN President Keith Pelley. "Our coverage will be comprehensive with a significant package of live games as well as pre- and post-game reaction, commentary and analysis."

Beginning June 1, 2002, Vic Rauter will anchor TSN’s coverage of the World Cup tournament, kicking off a month-long competition that will see the world’s 32 top nations vying for soccer’s ultimate championship. Live games will be broadcast in the late evening and early morning hours in Canada, as the matches are being played in South Korea and Japan. Key matches will be repeated for day-time viewing whenever possible. TSN has carried the World Cup of Soccer on four previous occasions - from Mexico in 1986, Italy in 1990, the United States in 1994 and France in 1998.

TSN will have live coverage of the World Cup official draw beginning at 5:30 a.m. ET this Saturday, Dec. 1 from Busan, South Korea. The draw, which determines first round opponents for the competing nations, will be repeated for three consecutive hours following the initial live broadcast. Suneel Joshi and Dick Howard will anchor TSN’s coverage of the draw. Howard, one of Canada’s foremost soccer analysts, will offer his perspective on how various nations are expected to do as a result of first round match-ups.

SportsCentre on TSN will have preview feature reports and profiles of players and teams from the eight groups during the two months leading up to the start of the competition. ESPN Classic Canada will also complement coverage of the World Cup with encore presentations of past championships as the event draws nearer.

No discount Apprentice.

In fact there's no charge at all.
Those words are absolutely free.

I wonder if I should start a thread devoted to the kit and TTPers attempts to copy the Woppertone "style".

People should feel free to include some of their own conjuctions, prepositions, articles and such, just so that their Copperposts don't sound like the ref beater.

Why don't you give it a test run Apprentice and see how it works.
Then we can move it out of your thread here and stop being off topic.

That had to be the most annoying World Cup Draw ever. The hosts were fcuking lost on stage and it was shear Torture... Argentina, England, Sweden, and Nigeria is by the far the strongest group. Italy, Croatia, Mexico and Equador is another tough group. France , Portugal, and brazil look like they will go through without any problems.

If that dcik muncher only would have pulled Tunisia instead of Mexico:mad:

Watch for a strong Asian contingent into the second round. Japan & South Korea to win their groups and China runner's up in Group C.

Looks as though the Yanks might break through to the second round. Anyone else feel that Poland's romp through the group stages was something of an overachievement?

Thought so,

SH,

I agree with you on the Poland overachievement thang (ain't dat how ya say it...um...er....yo?).

But I can't see our American brutha's getting results against South Korea and Portugal, which they will need to get through to the second round.

We hate Jimmy Hill, he's a poof, he's a poof.

Italy's group is simple.....

Apprentice,

Italy's group is a cake walk. An old Croatia team is the other best team in the group. For once, Italy will win all its' games in the round robin... I really like Ireland's chances of getting out of its' group. The Germans have been average of late. Should be interesting, as always.

It'll take some fortunate results, but I can see the Poles shitting the proverbial bed and the South Koreans being, well, South Korean. Iy Foo Suk and Jee Wen Soo are names that strike fear in stoned teenagers unable to properly pronounce what exactly they want on top of their steamed rice, not in a formidable strikeforce highlighted by the unfortunately-named Joe Max Moore.

Besides, Reyna's a yank - shouldn't that automatically qualify you for red, white and blue face paint, a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon and a Sept. 11th button when the WC rolls around?

As for other predictions - The Irish'll do the business in group E, claiming a stunning upset win when Ray Houghton lofts a dodgy 20-meter blast over Oliver Kahn. Then Andy Townsend will come in and all will be right with the world. Packie Bonner with the clean sheet.

Spain will find a way to self-destruct, again, and prolly lose goup matches to Siddafrika and Paraguay. And the Slovenes. Gotta love the Slovenes.

Sleeper team of the tourney is obviously Japan, who'll most likely shock perennial underachievers Belgium. Then they'll roll onto Russia, who can never seem to enter a major international tournament without some sort of internal struggle or dissent. After witnessing all the Asian nightlife has to offer, the Commies will make rolling into the hotel at 7am a regular occurance and fade away into World Cup obscurity.

As for the Tunisians, North Africans have always been a scary lot. Can't predict that.

Stars and Stripes forever,
-Sensei.

World Cup Draw

Well group f in English terms stand for "Fcuk"
:( , while for the Argentines it simply spells "Final".

I had England down to the final 8 and now I am not so sure.

Slovenia, Uruguay, Turkey, USA, Ireland, Nigeria (hopefully England!), Croatia and Japan and Tunisia from Group H.

The final 4 Spain (could be France), Portugal and Argentina and Italy the final 2.

Now the likes of Brazil, Germany and even Uruguay will wake up.

Bring it on, I love the World Cup:D

Two comments for the rest, England should have no problems qualifying for the second stage. They have a good team and they might challenge for top spot in the group.

And I think this is the first year that all past World Cup Winners are involved in the tournament.
