Ballack may return, IMHO he is the German Barry Ferguson (obviously a better player) but Bazza-esque in that he left his home club and country for "better footballing adventures" and has since been seen, at least once, at the Allianz on a Chelsea game day taking in an FC bayern Match in Beckenbauers box.

Drogba is not as good, at this point in time, as either Toni or Klose IMHO, and may move into a rotation? But he would be third choice for me, especially in the fantastic form those two have had since transferring in.

Lampard is overrated, has scored 20 goals from midfield for Chelski for quite a few years in a row now, and would be a good player, but they could do better. I bet Lampard goes to Spain and is a flop like Woodgate and Owen were.

I stated though, only that they are alike in that they left their home club and country to be dissapointed in what they thought was better footballing opportunites.

Bazza is clearly a better footballer :D

Bayern were considering a protest after training on it yesterday! From all reports the pitch was a disaster. Good to hear from you Utah! I need you around these boards.

Aloha for now! Off to Maui! :)

So sorry wolfgang, it's all over but the fat lady singing for Bayern's UEFA...dream. That got made official today, when they drew the Trotters in the next round.

They aint never seen direct football like that. It's gonna be Kevin Davies knocking it down the Nicolas Anelka past old man Khan over and over...

Love always, Little Sam

Its time for Bolton to get humped! :D

1-0 Bolton!!!

1807: GOAL - RICARDO GARDNER. Unbelievable, Bolton are in front against Bayern Munich! Bolton cause chaos with a long throw and the ball falls to Gardner at the back post and his right-footed effort comes off Daniel Van Buyten and into the back of the net off Oliver Kahn's post.

They cant handle the directness! And that's without Anelk, jsut wait till the reverse fixture!:wa:

1950: It's all over and Bolton have secured a famous draw in the Allianz Arena! They were under huge pressure at times but defended brilliantly and counter-attacked so well and fully deserve their 2-2 draw. Considering big names like Nicolas Anelka, El-Hadji Diouf and Jussi Jaaskelainen were missing, it's a magnificent point for the Trotters who have two points from two games.

2-2 The best team in Germany draws the 2nd from bottom team in England...At home.

Nuff said.

oooooooooooooooooh....can't wait for Wolfgang's repsonse to that... :D

keep in mind that Bayern (i think) are missing piles of players due to injuries still.

That being said, Bayern has no business not beating the snot out of Bolton at the Allianz.

Man did Bayern look good again today. Could have been 7-0. Toni and Ribery were absolutely fantastic! This team is rolling and would have to be considered top 5 in the world at the moment.

Remember this special moment Wolfgang? How about this one?

They are not in the CL but would if they were, they would have to be considered favorites with the like of AC Milan, Man U, Barca, Real. I had a conversation with JBN and he thinks they are top 5-7 as well.

Yeah, top five in the world. Sure. Bolton didn't even have Anelka, Diouf or Jaaskelainen and they fully deserved the draw. So much for your genius-like insight into the world soccer rankings.

VfB more important than Bolton

Hitzfeld identified the Stuttgart clash as the reason for withdrawing influential duo Franck Ribéry and Podolski after an hour on Thursday. “We have two games in the space of three days, and my decisions reflect that,” the coach explained. The players rested against Bolton - Philipp Lahm, Martin Demichelis, Zé Roberto and Luca Toni – are set to return on Saturday.

Lahm assessed the return to his former club as “a tick more important“ than the Bolton match. “VfB have a good team, it’s just not going so well for them right now. That kind of team is always dangerous, but we want to stay top.“ Summarised Hitzfeld: “Stuttgart will come at us. The entire Bundesliga is hoping Bayern trip up and someone else takes top spot.“

Still undefeated this year! Has Rangers lost 2 in a row?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has warned UEFA the integrity of the Champions League will be at risk if they adopt Michel Platini's proposal to include cup winners and an increased number of teams from lower-ranked nations.

This season's group stages have already seen Arsenal beat Slavia Prague 7-0 and Liverpool thrash the Turkish champions Besiktas 8-0.

The Champions League has been labelled the new Carling Cup by Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp, who claimed it was "a stage for the reserves to enjoy a few days in a pretty foreign town and a run out".

Wenger fears Platini's proposals would undermine the competition further and he also harbours concerns about the status of the UEFA Cup, after watching Bayern Munich withdraw Franck Ribery after just an hour of the 2-2 draw with Bolton.

"You have to be careful not to change the Champions League too much by bringing in even more weaker teams, because you could find yourself with games five and six with no meaning. That would be very dangerous for the quality of the competition," said Wenger.

"The UEFA Cup has a different problem. The mistake there is that, with groups of five, the best three teams qualify [for the knock-out stages].

"That means with four points you can go through. That is not serious.

"Last night in the UEFA Cup Bayern Munich took Ribery off after 60 minutes, Bastian Schweinsteiger after 70 minutes to prepare for the game on Saturday. That means it becomes a friendly game."

Wenger made eight changes to his side for Arsenal's midweek draw in Prague, which was enough to secure them passage into the knock-out stages with two matches remaining.

Cesc Fabregas and Alexander Hleb were both rested and Wenger confirmed he will give two other senior players a few days off when Arsenal travel to face Sevilla on November 27.

Platini's proposal is based on the desire to make the Champions League more accessible across Europe.

Only 15 of UEFA's 53 member nations are represented in the group stages this year.

He is determined to include six champions from the bottom 40 countries of UEFA's membership, though demands for cup winners to also be included received a lukewarm reception from national associations.

A compromise is expected to be put forward whereby each association would decide whether the cup winners should replace the lowest league qualifier for Europe's top club tournament.

In England, that would almost certainly maintain the status quo of four clubs qualifying from the Premier League.

But the fourth-place finisher may have to play two qualifying rounds instead of one.

Make all the excuses you want. Fact is, you claim Bayern are in the world's top five, yet they could only muster a draw at home against a team second from bottom in the Premiership. Oh, and nice try highlighting the fact that Ribery and Schweinsteiger were taken off early. As has already been said, Bolton played the entire game without three of their best players. I didn't know Germany had any astronauts but you are clearly lost in space. Earth calling Wolfgang, Earth calling Wolfgang, you're team is shite!

Barcelona draws Rangers, capitals beat the Sens last night. Oh my, Ottawa sucks, Barca you suck too and are not in the top 5 in the world cause you drew an SPL team. What logic do you have? Its a simple fact that Bolton got played off the park, Bayern couldnt score or capitalize on their 20-5 shot advantage and the league schedule didn't help the fact that we play 43 hours later on the road. Stupid schedule makes me mad but not an excuse and don't use Bolton didn't play this or that cause Bayern rested 5 of their regulars for the match. You just don't know Bayern otherwise you would know that the German national regular, Bastian, is on the bench.

Toni, Demechelis, Altintop, Lahm, and Ze were warming the bench. fact remians we haven't lost this year!

Preseason Cup 3-0
Bundesliga 8-0-4
Uefa Cup 3-0-1
German Cup- 2-0

Total- 16-0-5
