Surprised

I thought there would have been more hype for this upcoming NFL season.

I guess not.

Go Seahawks Go!

Maybe we can make the post-season this year.

The NFL season is opening on a weekday for the first time. The reason behind it is the 9/11 tragedy. The game is taking place in New York and they are planning some sort of memorial. Really, the season need not even be played as the Steelers have it all but wrapped up. No one will escape the wrath of the gold and black (unless of course Kordell is in a giving mood this season and starts throwing up turkeys like it's fcuking christmas. Here I sit with my fingers crossed). Mr. Regs sir, I have plotted your location on a chart here at work. It puts you smack in the middle of a taxiway for runway 26 at YVR. You live in an apple box there or sumthin'?

Oh HoS, don't take it personally. Let me explain. I smoked a few lung rockets last night before bed, you see. Then right after the dream in which I took Brooke Burns temperature with my meat thermometer I had another dream. In this one Queen Elizabeth herself designated me her royal deputy (or was it dapoty) and empowered me with the job of knighting certain people deemed worthy of such an honour. I just hadn't got around to you yet, man. BTW, since this is an NFL thread, you got any predictionays for ze super bowl?

P.s. Your signature is imcomplete. Add: and if you can't face the fcuk then fcuk it

SF vs NYG

I didn't see the game but what an exciting score 16 to 13. But so typical in the NFL. Small field, low score, win at the end either in regulation or OT by a field goal.

Fil,

The Seahawks are extremely unlucky this season on three fronts. One was screwing up and letting Levon Kirkland go. The second was having Dilfer go down with the torn MCL. The third was having to go into a pass-happy division with San Fran and St. Louis, while praying that your lone decent DB, Shawn Springs, can return from a pretty serious hamstring injury. But, I really really like Shawn Alexander, and I think if they limit Hassleback's pass attempts early on and allow Alexander to carry the ball like 35 times a game, they could get out of the first few weeks at .500.

I've made the same Seahawk bet with three different people - I give them 10-6 and any record better than that, I take 9-7 and anything worse. I feel confident that I can make some $$$ out of this one. And no, I will not make this bet open to all the poachers on TTP.

My early prediction for the Superbowl is Philly-Pittsburgh. Although you could see Tampa Bay or St. Louis in there as well. Give a sleeper pick to Washington (especially if Spurrier's offence clicks) to compete in late Janurary.

It also wouldn't surprise me if San Fran won the aforementioned division, but St. Louis went farther in the playoffs. I think the Niners defense is a year or two away from making them a championship contender.

Oakland and Philadelphia in the Super Bowl. As for the Seahawks, they are going to be shite again. The quarterbacking situation is shoc-king and they have a brutal schedule. Sensei, your bet is money in the bank, sunshine. They have to play St. Louis AND San Francisco twice, thanks to the switch to the NFC and they have to play the Raiders in LA. They will go 0 - 5 in these games, which means they will have to go 10 - 1, for you to lose your bet. Can you give me the number of this idiot, so I can make the same bet and I will up the ante?........:) BTW, check out my latest win.....It is tre-men-dous.......:)

I never really considered Oakland to be a factor for this season. But I suppose they could. I thought last year was their best crack at it....I'm one of those guys who figures losing Gruden is going to hurt more than anything. They've got a pretty experienced (read: old) group of guys there, who seemed to feed off the motivation Chucky brought to the table. I don't know how they'll react to a new bench boss. And I think letting Biekert go will hurt them more than they assume. He lead the team in tackles last season.

I could see them making a playoff run if everybody stays healthy. They also need Charles Woodson to become more of an impact player than he was last season. He only had like four picks or something like that.

Glad we're on the same page with Philly. Donovan McNabb is awesome. I think the addition of the old Green Bay brigade (Levens and Freeman) will push them over the top this season. Big question is how much they'll miss Trotter at LB.

And as bad as the Seattle QB situation is, it pales in comparison to the stinkers Detroit (Mike McMahon, Joey Harrington), Washington (Danny Wuerffeul, Pat Ramsey) and Carolina (Rodney Peete, Chris Weinke) will be rolling out this season. At least Dilfer won a Superbowl.

C'mon Captain! The silver and black lack smack

I would have to say Oakland is looking pretty iffy. I'm sure they'll have a decent record but getting to the big show is pushing it. Woodson will have to be stellar and the O will have to shine. Philly is looking good with a D built to get them to the Superbowl and the awesome D. Mcnabb running things. Only question is will Levens make it through the season without getting hurt. Freeman will help for sure, giving them a deep threat. I'm not as keen on San Fran. I don't think they can beat the Rams. Back to the AFC, no one runs the ball better than the Steelers and if Kordell (big fcuking if though) can keep it together they'll be meeting Philly or St. louis in the final battle.

On a personal note; my Cowboys shite the bed last night. The once mighty offensive machine is going to struggle big time due in large part to the O line who cleared nothing in the way of space for Emmit Smith. 19 carries for 67 yards. Shoc-king.

I felt bad for the guy by the end of the night. Every time he looked up the Texans were on the blitz. He was deer cought in the head lights. Only fitting the Texans finished the game off with a Safety.

Looks like there is a new sheriff in town. :(

Did anyone else catch the game? Could they blow anymore sunshine up the arse of the Carr? Jesus it was like reading a Khalsa post.
