PCOV 6-1 Shaheen. We went up 2-0 and they caught us on a counter to come within 1 in the 1st half. It was 3-1 at half and 3 more goals for us in the 2nd half. I got my 1 goal a year which was the winner.

On to a huge game against Columbus next week.

Columbus came out and took it to us the first 15-20 in the crazy rain at burnaby lake. Seemed like they had a deep bench as we were lacking bodies. They had the better chances but we were tied at 0-0 at half. The 2nd half they started strong and had a shot ring off the post minutes in. Minutes later we had a chance to go up but a great save by their keep. Columbus went up 1-0 about 15 in and looked like a hand ball but no call. ..game goes on. finally with 15 to go, zico equalized. Then, in inury time, mark gomes crossed one on a free kick and Ramo slotted the winner. On to Sapp. Huge result for us.

Congrats to Sapp as it appears they have won their first points of the year with a 4-4 draw

Well, not the start we planned on that's for sure.
2-0 WV in the first 25 minutes and they ended up putting 4 in on us by the end of the game. Not a great defensive effort.
Good thing we put eight in the back of their net by the end of 90.

I know this is a bit late to bitch about this, but why is the first game of 2014 on Jan 3,4,5 weekend? Most games are on turf and cancellations are a rarity. The Xmas break should be at least another week longer. Schedules are still made like they were 10 years ago when there were no turf fields and at least 3 or 4 games would have been cancelled by now. That just doesn't happen anymore. Adjust the schedules so we have a longer break at Xmas and less of a break at the end of the season and before Provincials. Doesn't that make sense? So simple!

We Masters guys have the same beef in the FVSL.
We have families and we're busy at that time with the tail end of the holidays and our bodies want/need the longer break.

I've already told my teammates I will not be here for that weekend.

Bang on with the turf - We're getting our games in much better now as time goes by with more of these fields available.
And, problems with make up games are a thing of the past.

The answer I get is 'Bring it to the AGM and address it there'.
Which is what I'll probably do to get our point across.

That, and the Thanksgiving weekend gets on my tits too.

I agree. For once I'd like to be able to help cook thanksgiving dinner and set the table. Oh, who am I kidding. It would be nice to just have that weekend off instead of messing up the dinners every year.
And an extra weekend at XMas would be nice as well.
