Hey Fellas,

Its almost that time when the Islanders start sparking conversation on TTP. I love this site. Anyhow, I like the Power Rankings. I just thought I would let you boys know what is up in the VISL. Due to weather the league is not finished yet. Gorge took the league. 2 - 4 place is still up for grabs between 5 teams. Fairly competative actually. Teams battling for those spots are Bays United, Sooke Celtic (new to div 1), Cowichan, Gordon Head and Vatrieghts. Should all be cleared up this weekend I think. As for the Jackson Cup, Gordon Head is the only team out of those 6 that has been eliminated. I will keep you boys posted if you would like.

Provincial Cup (mens) 2007

It is time to get things started. Are there any teams from the VMSL or FVSL that have clinced BC Cup Berths. On the Island the only team to do so in the Gorge. The rest should be decided this weekend. It has been pretty competative on the island this year 2nd through 4th is very tight. Here are the standings for the top 6. I guess Sooke does not have a chance for the league but can still make BC's through the Jackson Cup. Bays United was eliminated by Gorge last weekend in the Jackson. It was a nail biter. Gorge scored 2 goals in the last two minutes to win. And Gordon Head has been eliminated from the Jackson Cup as well by Gorge div 2's.

As I am from the Island I am computer illiterate and don't know how to read. Where can I find it? I just started a new thread for BC Cup. No idea if it is good or not?????? I think we like mixing it up with the Mainlanders.......Its always good banter. I will keep you guys posted.

The VMSL will have a better idea following this weekend's Imperial Cup games. As the four semi-finalist's should be decided.

Officially only sporting has clinched a berth, but Inter/Surrey/Columbus are basically clinched.

Whats up boys? Just thought I would let you know whats going on over on the island. Gorge and Gordon head have clinched BC berths through League play. As of this weekend, Sooke who was promoted to Div 1 this year have clinched a berth through the Jackson Cup as they are in the finals. The other semi is taking place this weekend between Gorge and Vantrieghts. Vantrieghts needs a win to clinch. If they do not the last spot will go to Cowichan who have placed third in the league.

Even though Sooke was just promoted they are a very strong squad. If they get a home game the boys from the mainland will be in for a treat. It is an amazing atmosphere out at the LOG. Guys with chainsaws and beer. WOW!!!! The field is another story.

I read the weekly report looks like the firemen spear headed by one of my old buddies Cravs is looking strong. Nice to see an Island boy making an impact in Van... Nice work Cravs.

Vike - heard the Treights/Sooke game was played on a field that was unplayable? Hurt Bays chances of getting in...hearing this of course from my friend on Bays so a bit biased possibly.

Isn't Gord Johnson playing w Sooke? He should help.

The field in Sooke was not ideal. Complete mud. It will be interesting for the Vancouver teams who draw Sooke at home. It did hurt Bays chances but so did Sooke resting a bunch of players who were in card trouble. At the end of the day you can only cover your own ass.

As for Gordo he is playing with Sooke. They have several former Gorge players as well as some youngsters from Sooke who can play.

Sooke battles like the Powell River of old.

Good to hear they're playing well. Played alongside a few of them during the '97 Juan de Fuca glory run...10 long years ago. Powell River happened to be the only team that beat us that year until we met Peg in the Province Cup semis. Ah the good ol' days.

Just to keep you updated the 4 teams from the Island have been decided. It was a battle of the ages yesterday between Gorge and Vantrieghts. Vantrieghts went up 1-0 early in the second half. Gorge tied it up in injury time. Gorge went on to score the winner with 4 minutes left in 2nd OT. 2-1 Gorge Final.

Which means Gorge, Sooke, Gordon HEad and Cowichan are in BC's from teh VISL.
