Why the fcuk has the CBC inflicted that butthead Bob Cole upon us again to broadcast Team Canada games? The guy's "style" is so lame he can even put my hyperactive niños to sleep...It's almost embarrassing to listen to him fumble through the names of players he doesn't recognize from the Leafs' roster. Come on, colemanj, get this guy sorted...we know there's much better talent available at the MotherCorp.

Now, don't try to blame the Mother Corp for this debacle - we wanted Staal, Phaneuf and Crosby just like everyone else... broadcasters love a younger skew. And a superstar can draw the audience; win or lose -- without Lemieux and Gretzky, you have to go with Crosby. Maybe Gretzky caught the Crawford disease and didn't want another Superstar to upstage him -- remember Nagano, no Messier (he could still play then), and Gretzky sitting on the bench during the shootout, all Crawford moves.

As to Cole, what can I say, he's entertaining -- so he gets a few players and calls wrong, it's a tough job, spend a few minutes up in the booth and you realize it is hard to talk all the time. He's a good old Newfoundlander too; Lord thundering Jesus, give him a break! (and pass the Captain...)

Somnambulance does not equal entertaining (see Todd Bertuzzi for definition of term). If talking all the time is the only job requirement you're looking for, we both know that WhiteKnight is more than capable (he does it every Saturday between plinks) .

Not blaming the MotherCorp for the game results, only SuperBob Cole; there's enough blame to go around to people who actually get to see the ice. Yes, Gretzky deserves to take a bit of it for player selection, but the snake-bitten bunch of aimless individuals who were on the ice deserve more of it. Most expansion teams have more cohesion or spirit than these guys showed.

StandPat is definitely past it; he was easily out-coached. Even Ron McLean could do a better job (eyes in crotches and all).
