Ok, the comprehensive rankings are still a week or two away, but let us get a bit reflective for now:
Some thoughts to ponder:
PS: Top Five in the rankings currently:
1. Portuguese Club of Vancouver (VMSL)
2. Port Coquitlam Euro-Rite Castillians (VMSL)
3. North Delta SC Rangers (FVSL)
4. West Van FC (VMSL)
5. Coastal FC Peace Arch (FVSL)

Some thoughts to ponder:
- There are nine teams in VMSL Premier Masters, down from the traditional ten as no teams came up from Div One. Sapperton and Metro Ford, both traditionally strong, have been forced to amalgamate to survive.
- Of the nine remaining teams, five are "ethnic'" based teams ie Romanian, Shaheen, PCOV, Columbus and Croatia, and Croatia was an amalgamation with (or some would say takeover of) 22 Ave Lions. It could be argued that PCOV is an amalgamation of PCOV and Sporting, and West Van is an amalgamation of West Van Trollers, Pegasus and Deep Cove Royals, albeit historic.
- Currently, in Division One the top two teams are Vancouver United Westside Rangers and West Van Flying Horses. Just based on the VUWSR name, one would have to assume they are an amalgamation of at least two sides. Also in Division One are the West Side Originals. Unless Westside or West Van Masters Premier get sent down, which is not likely, VUWSR or the Horses (or the Originals for that matter) will not be eligible to be promoted. Further, based on recent history, Division One teams have turned down being promoted in any event.
- Several traditionally powerful teams have folded or changed leagues: Surrey Rangers, Surrey United Fire Fighters, Vancouver Fire Fighters, Surrey United, Pegasus (West Van), Port Coquitlam etc. One might argue that Surrey Rangers became North Delta Rangers (kind of).
- The North Shore Coaches League has gone from two divisions of six or eight to one of six or eight, and continues to shrink. The latest abdication from the NSCL is traditional powerhouse Norvan who went to VMSL Masters Division Three and have worked their way up to Division One, and currently sit mid-table.
- I don't know that much about the FVSL but I do not believe they have not won a Provincial Cup since the Surrey Rangers days, circa 2007 or 2008.
