Considering the time of year, it's time to revisit this thread.

While shaking-head guy in the mirror of Jacob's Ladder freaked the sh!t out of me, The Exorcist is still, by far, the scariest movie ever.

I think it has to be The Exorcist, man I gotta see that again, it's been yonks...

The Shining is great, but more eerie than scary.

Another good one was Stigmata, not so much scary, as it is creepy.

Honorable Mentions: Saw, Saw II out soon BTW!, and The Ring- What Lies Beneath was alright...

Has anyone seen the exorcism of Emily Rose?

Candyman. Scared me shitless.

Children of the Corn. I just can't look at anyone named Maliky and not think that they are psycho. Watched it alone when I was around 11. Smart.

Exorcist hands down...

although, I watched the first "Evil dead" when I was a kid and I still have nightmares. Kids should not be allowed to watch scary shite... thats what my therapist says anyways :)

Even though I was staying at a house right on the beach, I didn't swim in the ocean for about a month after I saw Jaws.

Jacob's Ladder had a creep factor off the charts for me when I was young girl. The first Nightmare on Elm street was ahead of it's time, at the time and really so was Friday the 13th when I watched it on Thursday the 12th.

The Emily Rose laugh you hear on all the adds makes my ass hair stand on end though so does my mother in laws.

Goin' with a classic... Evil Dead is the scariest, except for the final claymation face melting. But at 11 years old...I didn't sleep well for weeks.

Honorable mention to Exorcist and any other satanic themed movie. That shite scares the crap out of me.
