Massive game coming up between Sask and NS this evening.
On the other side, as expected Manitoba had lightning in a bottle last year; they're well off the pace this season. Ontario and Quebec drew 0-0 in their opener, both winning today. Looks like first place is on track to come down to goal difference unless Newfoundland pull off an upset along the way. Quebec only beat Northwest Territories 3-0 today; with Ontario having the Yellowknife squad on the last day you wonder if Quebec might come to rue taking their foot off the gas...
Also tip of the cap to the BC ladies as SU beat Nova Scotia 2-1 today.
Nova Scotia captain and another player just received reds they won’t be able to play is tomorrow which is nice but still not to be taken lightly. If we win tomorrow we have a very good chance of making it to the final.
Will keep you updated but I believe the game will be live streamed.
Site has NS losing in fact to Alberta (as opposed to a draw). Makes tomorrow an actual must win for NS tomorrow against Tigers if they are to have any hope as it is their final game. The win keeps Alberta alive but Rovers can take a strangle hold on the group with a win tomorrow.
On the other side Manitoba confirmed that NWT are a free hit as they put up 10 today. Ontario beat Newfoundland so they are in control with Quebec having to hold hold serve against Manitoba tomorrow. If Quebec do win, it all but assures that it will come down to GD and you can bet Ontario with know that and throttle Yellowknife.
Both Ontario and BC with their fates in their own hands tomorrow against the bottom teams in their respective pools. ON with the easier task against NWT but BC definitely favourite against NB.
Girls off to the final tomorrow against Ontario as well tomorrow.
I attend this tournament every year and watch every game. This is one of the best teams to come out of B.C. in a few years. So far they have been class on and off the field. Their fans have been great as well as many attend other games each day. Unfortunately Ont is also a very good team and they are about to play on a wet field on a cold day hovering around zero. For some reason this tournament always brings an early dose of winter when Saskatoon hosts. Good luck today. The SK team also went undefeated in round robin play, almost all of them are from UofS team that won the West about 5 years ago.
This team can play! The manner they have represented the province has been total class, on and off the field. Their support for our SU women's team at the tournament is so greatly appreciated. They offered their physio to help us in an instant. We didn't even have to ask. Their supporters have brought great life to the tournament. I felt like I was at home when they were there. Thank you for supporting us!
This is a game played with lots of emotion. Discipline is the key. This Surrey BC Tigers Hurricane team has and is working so hard on staying disciplined. Their talent and pedigree will allow them to compete with anyone. The Ontario team, Caledon SC is well coached and they have a great team. Should be a great game!!
Best of luck to a great collection of players who are representing us well!
