Re: Penny 2006

no... but they do show the following announcement on the website...

http://www.pentictonsoccerclub.com/tournaments.htm

This year we have changed to prize money for the competitive teams and added a recreation side for the women.

We might be forced to actually try this year... probably not, but maybe.

Re: Penny 2006

the website also states:

Schedules will be placed on this website by May 1st.

i'm pretty sure we'll end up getting our schedules friday night as usual. and i also think the prize money should go to the team that wins a drinking contest at the beer gardens, or have some sort of drinking/soccer combination competition

Re: Penny 2006

i'm not sure if you want to take on that challenge with our lot, son... with our AVERAGE weight being 210... you could be in for a bit of of an arse-kicking.

(in the beer gardens, of course... we are worthless on the pitch)

Re: Penny 2006

I'd much rather have a boat races tournament in the beer garden for the money instead of running around the park chasing young try hards from Port Moody.

Re: Penny 2006

not sure...

first, a classic quote from one of the Whalley Storm players, "How did you guys manage to beat Summerland yesterday? They beat us 8-1"

dear me... so much to learn.

we were en route to winning our pool, but luckily we strategically figured out how to lose to whalley to avoid playing monday... apparently they didnt catch onto the fact that i was pulled from the pipes in the first half from making a couple stops... and put up front in the second where my team mates figured i would be harmless.

Re: Penny 2006

Not sure who won but one of the finalist got there by protesting a game. I don't want to embarrass them by mentioning their name but I sure wouldn't be proud to be part of the GEU organization right now.

Re: Penny 2006

Depends on what the protest was.
Maybe they protested because the other team promised to decide the game by a boat race, then backed out?
Glad i don't know anyone at that club

Re: Penny 2006

Please tell me that he Pinnacles made the finals at least...

They had a 10 o'clock curfew... and there were no sightings of them in the beer gardens.

Wow.

Good Christ, some actually protested a game? They should be banned from all further association with this or any other summer tournament.

Dude said:
Isn't that the GEU Prem team, and didn't they allegedly protest last year as well?

I don't know what Geu's team went but it wasn't the prem squad. Our div 2 team went but I doubt they made the finals.

Last year it was the div 1 squad that protested, they are now the prem squad but they didn't go this year.

Cheers

OK, so last year's Div 1 now prem protested last year...same tourney.

Now, allegedly, another GEU team has protested. STD...if you were going to guess as to which team, which team would it be...without mentioning names, of course.

I can assure you that there was absolutely, positively, no chance of any one of the Delta players doing anything that would resemble the likeness of playing football.

Hope that clears things up.

Wolves don't complain do they:confused: I highly doubt the wolves made the finals, all they wanted to do was get smashed. Todd was playing goal for half games so if they made the finals then I'd be ashamed to show my face from the teams they beat

I heard that one team actually threw a game and then arranged to get players from another team drunk so they would lose (yes that was the only reason they lost) just so they wouldn't have to play on the monday. I'm not going to mention any names because I don't want to bring shame to another team but thanks for the beers Pinticton beer garden champions 2005 - 2006.
