Intense, intense match today in hostile territory....and it was only the quarter finals. We gutted out a win today in hot temperatures and a very heavy grass field.
The semi finals line up as:
BC vs Nfld
Ontario vs. Sask
Costley was awesome today in a shutdown role and Sahil was a threat all day long.
Our travelling contingent of fans (about 40 of them) were awesome.
On a side note, the officiating was decent today BUT how does the CSA assign a Quebec crew for our match? After all, perception is everything....
Off to another team dinner but we'll be staying away from St. Catherines Street tonight!
Our gloves and parkas are coming in handy in the hot weather!
Another hard fought win this afternoon - Nfld were an organized and fit squad who were very hard to penetrate.
Four games in the last five days is starting to take its toll with injuries and fatigue - but no one person on the team would have it any other way - there is a national championship on the line tomorrow at 7:30 AM Vancouver time.
We face Saskatchewan - both teams are familiar with one another having played in the group stage.
Should be fun.
Good luck to the BC gals from SU - they play at 5:30AM PST.....
