I normally don't get caught up in criticizing commentators but the CBC crew went totally f..king hysterical on the melee in the first half that led to Cory Rogers being ejected for seemingly nothing while Sherko Haji-Rasouli is throwing punches which seem pretty harmless and not hitting anything like a face or head.
There was no mention of the two Riders piling on when Jones had Jarius Jackson flat on his back. If the refs called piling on then, the melee might have not occurred.
At the half Sean Millington suggested that this might be good for BC and he got shouted down by some bozo and Greg Frers. Only Armitage and Millington didn't seem to have their panties in a twist over this scrum where no one got hurt and it did spark BC.
Daved Benefield was not on the broadcast so there was a bit of an absence of more sane announcers. Walby is pro Rider and anti BC at the best of times.
I dont like brawling but in this type of scrum in football it is more like purse swinging than anyone getting hurt or even hit. It is like a baseball brawl with no hits.
What is clear is that the two tackles Rob Murphy and Jason Jimenez have really added something to the toughness of that entire BC O line. These guys have never been as mean or tough as they are with these two guys on that team. Even Buono says this to the media.
The Lions have had some real characters in the O line over the years but none as impressive on the field as these two. Murphy is also funny in the media.
