Just wanted to say I have a new member with TTP and I just wanted to say hello to all veteran members of TTP.

I have played soccer for a number of years and I want to get back to playing. I haven't played for a couple of months because I just moved here and I am looking for a league to play with. Do you have any suggestions where to start looking.

Depends on if you're looking for a certain level of play or even age group (IE, over 30's).

I have played soccer in Edmonton for about 20 years. Fifteen in the youth divisions and another five in Men's Division 3. I play midfield and I am looking for a team that is semi-competitive but not to the point where they believe it is like playing in the World Cup. That is basically where I am at right now.

Kurgan here on TTP used to play in the Alberta leagues I think so maybe he'd be able to tell you who to talk to in the VMSL in terms of similar levels of play.

You could checkout the BC Soccer Web and check under the Classified Ads. There is a section for players looking for teams.

It may not have the answer, but it is a start.

Check out www.westsidesoccer.com and you can probably find a team/level to play with/at. I guess it depends on where you live...

Alberta has a flat system. - A major league with 5 Edm and 5 Cal teams. Edmonton then has Premier - 6th-ish divisions.

Westside Invasion

I'm noticing a recent influx of Westsiders recently on TTP. And that can only be a good thing. For far too long, Smally and myself have had to hold up the Westside end of the VMSL threads (with some help from besty, Stranger, and The Ranger).

Nice to see the latest inducties:

• Notch (can only sound like a certain gangly Brit)
• jgraham (clever name there, big man -- let's see if we can get that changed to Mint, eh?)
• Dancing Bear (do bears migrate? Apparently)

I'd like to see a bit more of the lurkers, though:

• Maze (lots to say at the park; let's see it here)
• The Ranger (at your number of posts recently, you qualify as a lurker )
• Monk (you're paying too much attention to your dog)
• Duke (drive faster and post more)

Regardless, nice to see people are keeping up on the latest banter.
