Simply the BEST!

As George enters the final stages of his life today, we say goodbye to a legend.

In my opinion, the most gifted player of all time.

Great file C-side! I've seen very little of Mr. Best's talents but after watching that I can only say wow, amazing. And I'm sure the vid doesn't do him justice. Actually, he had an incredible life in general from what I know of him.

RIP George Best.

Re: Georgie Best and his 8 lbs liver

It's a sad day for football Best was a true genius !

I will always remember him playing with us in the Club Ireland George Best Trophy! This was back in july of 84 and best played a half with each team although ours had him twice what a player. I'm sure some of the players on here must have played in that as well.

Thanks for the memories Besty

Dude the tune is Ordinary World by Duran Duran.

This was my first time seeing footage of Best in action and I'd say for a player in the 60's and 70's that if he played today he'd still be a good player if not a stand out.

Re: Georgie Best and his 8 lbs liver

Although his best playing days were slightly before my time, he is the reason I became a Man U fan as a kid. When I was growing up in Kuwait in '79-early 80's, all the kids playing footy in the neighborhood idolized Maradona, Zico, Platini etc. but the surprising thing was that alot of us loved George Best. We'd all be playing, calling each other by our hero's name. To think that a guy who was around before we were born was still a hero to a bunch of us says it all about Best... his legacy will live forever. He was magic on the ball... I vividly remember a friend of mine showing me a VHS of "100 George Best Goals" as a 5 year-old... my jaw dropped at his dribbling skills, and I was hooked. I became a Man U fan instantly, at a time when no Man U games were ever shown in Kuwait (or other parts of the middle east). And I assure you I'm not alone, the same thing must have happened to kids all around the world.

RIP George Best.
