Wow, easy fella's, it's thanksgiving weekend. Some people on this thread need to start drinking a bit more. I start that trend this weekend. Good luck to all. Bertrum

No worries

Bert,

I'm sure Skytrain and Snowman (and the other guy not worthy of acknowledgement yet) will agree that it is all good natured…at least it is with me. If we were sitting down having beers together, I’d say the exact same thing with a smile on my face and a slap on the back. I’d expect somebody to come back at me with a slag too. Anybody I’ve played with can attest, like Motorhome Mike, Jungle Boy Bryan, or any of the other lurkers that I know are out there who don’t have big enough pills to make a post. At least Skytrain and Snowman step up to the plate. :D

If the weather keeps up, it’s going to be a truly great weekend. The Thanksgiving weekend games are always one of my favorites…this is when it really feels like soccer season has arrived; a nip in the air, the leaves on the ground, that Halloween smell…you gotta love it!

Was good on the TTP Oct 4, Skytrain puts out the line and rec'd many bites. Sometimes truth hurts Surrey Soccer bites. Kind of ironic someone from Surrey calling someone easy. But we shall put that to rest and put it on the pitch when PoCo stomps Surrey U. this weekend.

PoCo to take an easy three points this weekend. Word has it Surrey Coach/Manager has already called PoCo and asked us to take it easy on the team. What? Come on!

DRAPER DEAD WEIGHT

I'm a new ttper here and just wanted to say that I think that GEU is going to win now that they have lost Drapes for the season. He always held them back from being a better team.

ouch

Welcome Ballbreaker. good start. do you play in the valley?

Well truth be told Drapes in not the only dead weight in GEU Team/Club. Bertrum is by far the best player with his Div 3 skills and less than positive attitude. Enough said. And with prick supporters like dolomite, it can only make that club stronger.

TR,

Very true, Alouette game is very big. Would be very disappointed in a loss.

It better be ugly...

Skytrain: If you guys don't beat that Surrey U team by at least 5-bagle, there's a problem. That's essentially the same div. 3 SC Knights team we split a pair with last year. A good team in Div 3, 2, or even 1, but not ready- and may never be ready- for Premier.

Just remember: Surrey U and SC (Surrey City) are completely different Clubs, going in different directions. The SC Peg team is quite young, and the club is still keeping players down in the 1st team to allow them to develope. That team will be about ready to dominate in a year or two, when the old Tayside boys retire and leave Skytrain as the new, old guy of the group. By then, you'll be too beat up to play a higher level.:D For now, our club is perfectly happy to let the Rangers be the glory team in the FVSL, and the Peg (aka: flying cnuts) in VMSL.

Have a fun weekend boys. I'm signing off for the day. Hopefully.

HEY DUDE DON'T LET ME DOWN

You have to have realized that there was sarcasm in my words about getting along and stuff . I personally was hoping for something better than "your a geek" . I know your smarter than that 'cause i've read better from you . There was an earlier slag pertaining to "tayside boys' " as though we still exist . It's kind of interesting to also note that the "Slovan boys' " are now with the club in a justifiably unfamiliar 1st division role . If my calculations are right that makes the three most successful teams (in recent years) now belong to the same club AS ONE . If your not scared yet than then let me make my first prediction ... the cup final will be faught between DOMINION and UNITED ! I had better get some heat on this one because I'm getting bored . Anyways have a great weekend and i hope nobody gets hurt , cheers , u-d , bar

Rolo,

Little lady? If I was I'd be at home playing with my T&A all day and not at the pitch

Scared? The only thing I'm scared of is having to play another team from PoCo. But freightened from some little punk-ass GEU player, don't think so.

bitch stomp?hatrick? you have a better chance of finding a needle in a hay stack. Suggestion: lace your boots on tight, prepare yourself to get whacked and be prepared for me step all over all pride or dignity you may have, not to mention you.

I hope I won't let you down

Snowman: I did realize there was sarcasm in your post, which is why I gave you the :D or the :p or whatever it was. You came off sounding like the geek in psychology class, so I thought I'd reply with a "shut your face or I'll duct tape your ass" type comment.

Everyone who has been reading my posts for a while knows I'm probably more a FVSL flag waver now than a club flag waver...although I think ours is in the best position of strength for developing players and keeping them in the Valley. Basically, Poco City is made up of Metro Ford cast-offs (Tayside and Slovan boys alike) who prefer to play in the Valley. That's not a slag, but rather a complement. I like the fact that the Tayside boys elected to leave Metro-Focus because they were sick of Willy's BS. Tayside did well enough to earn promotion a few years back (can't remember...3 or 4) to the VMSL Premier side, but elected to play in the Valley instead. The same applied to many of the old Slovan guys (by the way why the hell is Rob "The Vagina" Vadina not playing?). So, in a nutshell, I actually respect the fact that a lot of the Coquitlam guys have elected to come back and play in the Valley, rather than the lot of the sell-outs who have a burning need to play in the VMSL. In reality, both are amateur leagues that are dead-ends for soccer careers, and most of us play to achieve the highest level of amateur status possible.

I play out here because I bought a house in Cloverdale; I like playing hockey in the backyard with my 2-year-old son as much as I like playing a soccer game. I hated the long drives, and I hated the shitty fields I had to play on when I got there. Looking out for needles is routine in Vancouver.

So, to rebut your statement, NOTHING scares me about soccer. There are too many more important things to be scared about. When I say I'd gladly face Jeff on the pitch, I absolutely mean it. No big deal. I like the banter this site offers. Beyond that, I think it serves some real value to people like me who love the game, love the league, and would like to see young players take advantage of the somewhat good infrastructure we have to possibly get a scholarship, or even a try-out in a real professional league. I think we're somewhat limited for footy in this country, but as an amateur league, we could be the best in the country if we can find a way to develop players to either stay in the FVSL, or move on to the next best thing: College, University, or Professional...NOT the VMSL!

Hope that pleases you. For a full copy of my thesis, go to www.thedudeknowsall.com :D . I have to go now; Mrs. DWMC is screaming...something about folding the laundry.

BTW: I predict an SC Ranger vs. Poco Dominion Rematch. See me in April for a prediction on the score.

nice piece

Dude,

That last post must have taken all day. Gald to see nothing scares you on the pitch, although you probably feel it the next day. As for the quote about the 'Tayside Girls', absolutley correct. Nice to see players stay in the valley. MF is a thing of the past, lots of BS and politics from youth up. Skytrain is also a former x-MF player. Currently there are 6 original PoCo guys left. The new team is now more focused. Training harder and fitter than ever before.

Your prediction about a rematch will come true, PoCo 3 - Surrey 1

Snowman,

you are no young guy that's for sure. been around the league almost as long as Bill J., viagra should keep both of you going for at least a couple more years.

You will find out my number November 4, I guarentee that, cause you will be looking up at it all day long. And after the game, I 'll be a good sport and give you a crying towel for PoCo Embarrassing GEU on their home pitch.

Personal battles will be won. As for the war, it will be ongoing for many years after we hang up the boots. Last few years when the two teams face off it has been very close games, fast paced, good hits, and the games always come down to the last 20 minutes.
