Re: [FVSL Masters 2007] January Predictions, Banter & Results

Thanks for asking Highlander.

Larry has been dealing with some health issues but i talked to him tonight and he is raring up for the second half of the season.

Say what you want......Larry is the best Mgr and trainer in the Valley!

First class to both teams and always good for a laugh.

No games again boys................Maybe next week!

Nice list there "Toes"....but I think Arnie Meers has got you beat...word was he would play for anyone who would buy his boots...but that is hearsay..or is it? But geez..don't you have any loyalty?? Not including rep teams, work teams...my list is pretty short

Wesburn..first 11 yrs of playing
Vancouver Firefighters...going on 25 yrs and see no reason to leave...best club to play for!

Cheers!

don't think the VPD has ever beaten us....have you?

Toezies:

Trying to remember you being at Forest but not having any luck; possibly due to the ridiculous quantities of beer being consumed at the time. When did you play there?

Scotty's right even if he did play for a sucky Wesburn team as a kid - Arnie's played for just ablout everybody.

Re: [FVSL Masters 2007] January Predictions, Banter & Results

Personally I think we should start a separate thread honouring Five Big Toes' achievements. We could call it "Five Big Toes Achievements and Banter" and if we had enough interest, perhaps it could be updated monthly, you know like, "Five Big Toes' Achievements and Banter, February 2006", something like that, or maybe a poll, I don't know...

I could start it off with the four goals in 35 minutes against New Jersey on one leg in the 2005 North American PST semi final.

Seriously.

Rangers 6 Mission 1

I can't comment on this game as i was stuck in Calgary last night.

By all accounts the boys played a nice little game out in Mission last night.

RF apparantly played the whole second half and Whistle Blower was all over the pitch...................

Good result boys..........

Maybe we might even jump a spot or two in the Highly Toughted
Sir M Power Rankings........

After much discussion Five Big Toes contract demands were getting a little silly so we passed on the signing and are out pursuing other possible players.........

Coach, staff have noted that excellent result, and predict that this will be reflected in the upcoming rankings.

But of course lots of games to be played tomorrow in all affiliated leagues.

Bushmen 1, Blunder 0.

Even first half on the frozen tundra in Bush country.

Bush Boys took it to us for the first twenty minutes of the 2nd half and were full value for the lead. We pressed late but were unable to equalize. Same old, same old.

On a separate topic, and this may deserve its own thread, I spoke with some Aldergrove players about the condition of Barry, who collapsed in a game a few months back. It turns out he has brain cancer and after some treatment in the hospital, has been sent home because there was nothing more they could do. It sounds like he's been given only a fairly short amount of time left.

On behalf of the GEU Thunder, we wish Barry and his family all the best in this very dark time.

Yes, best wishes to Barry and his family on behalf of Rangers FC.

Speaking of Aldergrove, our game has been postponed this weekend.

Which sucks.

Because tailgating starts at 10:15 Sunday now instead of 12:15...

Re: [FVSL Masters 2007] Jan & Feb Predictions, Banter & Results

Delta Metro 2 PAU 1

Decent game last night on a frosty JO pitch. One down at the half after a penalty decision went against us. No argument on the call. PAU with the most possession and dominating the middle of the park. Delta back line was pretty solid and kept us in it.
Second half was a totaly different story. PAU eased off and allowed us to play which ultamately resulted in allowing us two great strikes from about the same position 20 yards out which hit the net both times. PAU never looked like getting back in it after that and we played the clock out very well.

A much needed win for our lads and something for Sir M to think about for the power rankings come Monday.

Oh and by the way RF and Coach...Your Welcome!.:D
