I have to admit it... I thought this WC was going to be like past tournaments... With teams playing Not to Lose vs Playing to Win.

Outside of some shocking officiating at times, this has been the best major footy tourney I have ever watched.

Compared to some other guys, this one did a pretty good job, should have given the pk to Mexico for the foul or handball but I think Overall he did a good job. This week should get better match by match...

I was thinking this last night as I watched...some seriously nasty, leg breaking type tackles in the last 10. Some very nicely taken goals, too! I agree w/ everyone...fantastic play overall, really enjoying it whenever I get a chance. Not rooting for any one team in particular, just like seeing the skill and attacking on display.

It is funny how quality calls come when the official is 4 or 5 feet away from the play with a good view. Hence, Italy down to ten.

Ok after that PK call in the Greece Ivory Coast added time call I take back all of the stuff I said in support of the officials in this tournament.

It was a penalty and it hurts me to say it...but it was. Smilev missed a penalty MUCH worse and gave a red for FAR less in the Provincial Final. Remember that, Smilev? Of course you do. #hero

He definitely clipped Samaras heel while he was going forward. If it occured in the middle of the pitch it is a foul....just because of the timing and where it was on the field doesn't mean it wasn't a foul. It was in the penalty area...penalty kick. BTW, football is the real loser that Greece is going through. Hi Spiro.
