It'll be interesting to follow. I THINK Cloverdale is a stop on the proposed LRT system? Or maybe that's been approved?I recall way back then when I was digging around talking to people that there were 2 locations in being considered (1) Cloverdale Fairgrounds; and (2) a new stadium built on the land southwest of the new 216th Street HWY 1 overpass.
A soccer specific stadium down on the water - say between Gastown and Coal Harbour - might be nice. Surprised no one has thought of that yet, really...I recall way back then when I was digging around talking to people that there were 2 locations in being considered (1) Cloverdale Fairgrounds; and (2) a new stadium built on the land southwest of the new 216th Street HWY 1 overpass.
I think its between town centre and willoughby and they’re playing the municipalities off against each other to see who coughs up the cake to build the stadia to CPL specs, which is why it was an extremely general announcementBeing near the new skytrain station would be huge for attendance. I would assume they have looked at where the extension is going and have factored that in.
Town Centre? If the specs call for “soccer specific” it won’t happen there. I think the legacy of Percy Perry is too important to the municipality. They would not want to lose the track.I think its between town centre and willoughby and they’re playing the municipalities off against each other to see who coughs up the cake to build the stadia to CPL specs, which is why it was an extremely general announcement
You don’t think MF wants a pro club?? Lol
