Looking for a used car (price range $10000-$14,000) ....mid-size 4-door sedan, import, under 90,000k, 3-6 years old. Right now I've been looking at the Accords, Corollas, Camry, and Sonatas, and I think I've narrowed it down to to cars, 2007 Accord with 81,000k or 2009 Hyundai Sonata with 37,000k, both asking $13,800. Priority is reliability, gas mileage, cost of repairs, and re-sale value. I hear that the Hyundai's have really come on in reputation, and the Accords have always been rated highly, anybody have one of these? Any input appreciated. Yes I've looked online but the TTP community is much better that anything there;)

For resale you'll always win with Toyota or Honda over Hyundai or Kia no matter how good they've become. Perception is reality.

I have an 2003 Accord Coupe, same model type as the 07, really nice cars, smooth drive, nice interiors, no complaints, decent on gas, these days about 65 to 70 to fill up.

Hyundia may be the better way to go IMO. They are not the car they were 15 years ago, I believe they are the parent company to Kia or the other way around. Pretty sure they have a 10 year warranty as well. And no I dont work for either company just a poor experience with Honda. Good luck man.

2 Toyotas sitting in the garage right now; no mechanical or electrical issues with either. Way better than previous experiences with Chrysler, Mazda, GM, JRT, or BL...

elbowroom, the 2002 Audi A4 1.8t quattro was the first year of a new body style... Audi (And I know because I have and do own them) are only to be avoided in the first year of a body style change, the electrical issues that accompany the first years of the B5, B6, and B7 A4's can be both expensive and frustrating. Audi's and Bimmers are excellent in the class of car for used cars as they hold their value quite well, are great on fuel and have some great performance for our weather and driving conditions, but I'd humbly suggest in the price range for those cars to buy a '01 (b5) A4 or '02 or '03 (b6) A4.

Caveat: if you cannot/will not wrench on your own cars- Don't buy an Audi (or other 7-10 year old German Make)

JBN, If you can wrench on a newer car then you must be a mechanic... otherwise who cares.

btw, is your work still hiring? I want a 2013 A7

Well after 2 weeks of searching (me wanting an Accord or Camry loaded and the wife a Civic or Corolla base models) we settled on a Mitsubishi 2009 Galant Ralliart (loaded, sunroof, heated leather seats, nav) for what seemed to me a good deal ($13,000). I just found out that Mitsubishi has stopped making this model this year...should I be worried and change my mind (have not picked it up yet) anybody know why they stopped making them or have any bad experiences with Mitsubishi?
