Looks like only two games this Thanksgiving weekend:
Friday: Croatia vs EDC Inter. Croatia has been hard to predict. EDC are coming off a week of being handled easily at home by newcomers Peg. Tough one to handicap. I am going with Croatia having Didar and it being a 1-1 draw.
Saturday: SFC Pegasus vs PCOV. PCOV are a better team than EDC but are having difficulties this (as is EDC actually) against better quality sides and thumping weaker sides. This should be a tougher test for Peg as they are hosting the BC Champs, but they are at home. Pegasus 2 PCOV 1.
We went up early 1-0 on a solid individual effort my Mike Gomes which resulted in a PK and Gomesy slotted it. Peg countered back on a cross in which snuck by our keeper to make it 1-1. Not long after, some shitty marking on our part, Peg’s Ryan Powell finished one nicely to make it 2-1. Frazao slotted a beauty to tie the game before half. Both teams hit crossbars and had some great chances. Both goalies made some great saves. Probably the right result on the night.
Croatia has gone from flirting with the relegation zone as they did last year to a solid 4th place. They put there best players in the back (Darko and that tall center back who is one of the best in the league at his position) and Didar in net and sit back and counter so are hard to break down when they have all their guys out. They could be well-positioned in the upcoming power rankings.
Chinter 4-3 PCOV. The ref really screwed this game up with some terrible calls. The worst I’ve seen in a while. I thought we played well and deserved better.
