VMSL Masters Over 40s?

We have booked the Multi-Purpose Room at 8-Rinks for a Masters’ Division meeting to discuss the potential formation of an Over 40’s Division. Please let us know by January 31, 2011 if you plan to attend the meeting. If not enough teams are interested, we will cancel the meeting. Again, if you are interested in forming an Over 40’s Division, please make sure you reply to this email and attend the meeting!

Is 40 too early of an age to start this division?

Probably, as the relevance really went out of the age as a distinction when Masters' ball shifted from over 30 to over 35.

Thing is, we still have a strong over 40s league (those outlaws that BC Soccer just loves) that keeps a lot of the targeted player base away from the auspices of the VMSL. The other issue is that with the current rule set that the over 40s league plays with, those of us crusty old farts who still want to be a bit more aggressive when we play are still playing at the over 35 level to be able to do so.

Thinking that maybe we should look at making the cutoff age 45, like Nations Cup does...

MOST OF OUR GUYS ARE 45-50 PLAYING MASTERS THE FVSL IS LOOKING AT STARTING A 45S DIV , 40S IS TO CLOSE OF AN AGE GROUP TO THE MASTERS DIV.
