As John said, I think Richmond were full value for the 3 points, they worked hard, seemed fit, and most importantly, played with purpose.

Sapp 1 -WV 2

Hand it to them, WV wanted that one and played a good, physical game.

Historic note:
A first for Sapp this year; Sapp played 1,135 consecutive minutes before falling behind in a game.....and nobody ripped anyone's head off in the Sapp camp! WOW.

It's never good to lose, but WV did remind Sapp that we must play harder and regain our fitness to be successful. I think this will help us down the road.

We trained 4 times (in the gym albeit) after Christams leading up to last night.

Good tooo be back after a long lay off and it showed. Both teams got their first games outta the way and hopefully have a strong finish to the end of the season.

WABS's Predictions

Columbus FC (94.7) vs. Surrey United (66.3) - 3-0.
Usually I would call draw or a Columbus win. But the advantage SU has is that they already played this year and got the rust out. And do you really think all those Italians feeding from mama's kitchen trough over Christmas have worked off the weight? It'll be close until midway though the 2nd, but SU will win it going away.

Cliff Avenue FC (37.3) vs. Sapperton Rovers (114.7) - 2-0.
A really pissed off and determined Sapp side will show up on Sunday morning. BOHICA called for a 9 PM curfew Sat night.

RCIU Athletics (69.0) vs. PCOV (77.0) (Tie) - 2-2.
Two very even teams right now. It'll be an exciting game on the turf in Richmond.

West Van FC (90.3) vs. ICSF Inter (37.3) (Tie) - 1-1.
Grass - What a crazy idea. BIG letdown game for WVan. After having 20 guys out and taking it to Sapp, WVan will come back down to earth and scramble for the come-from-behind tie.

Westside (66.0) vs. MFFC (32.3) - 2-1.
Also on grass, albiet a peewee size pitch.This will be an ugly 1st game back for both teams. A long layoff like that will have this game played at snail's pace. But WS is too strong and have the finishers up front.
